I don't understand what I've just read, we havent struggled to score in pre season have we.

Sunderland have... They've scored 2 goals and look at the striker options there.

Absolute nonsense

Didn’t McNulty score a hat trick against Hartlepool?

Embarrassing that he let Chaplin go before he had a guaranteed striker lined up. Teams always seem to make us wait, so why don’t we make them wait for a change; he didn’t have to be sold as soon as they received the 2nd bid. We’ve had our pants pulled down once again relying on other clubs/players goodwill. Going into the season with 2 strikers(one of which coming back from a serious long term injury), is unbelievable. I hope he has someone else lined up, as a lack of a clinical striker will be the difference just like we seen last season.

Could understand why he would want to go to Lincoln, especially if Grant has signed for them who he would have grown up with at Forest.

Its just like the scenario when all of the Portsmouth lads wanted to join us, because of Doyle.

You have the most Irish name I've ever seen.

I just don't buy this "We've got until 31st August" stuff - we should be going into the season fully ready. Not scrambling around for a striker again.

We started poorly last season, 1 win in the first 6 games and 1 goal from open play, we can't afford to do that.

I would agree re August if we had no recognised starting striker, but we have Hiwula. Who is to say Walker would have started ahead of him?

I have noticed a few people say we have 2 strikers, we have 3: Hiwula, Bakayoko and Biamou. Hiwula didn’t play as a central striker for us, but that is his natural position. In my view we can’t judge his credentials as a striker on the handful of half appearances he had there last year.

In an ideal world we’d have another striker in before Saturday, but we have to recognise we’re a L1 team and things will work slightly differently for us. We are at the whim of selling/loaning clubs more so than teams in a higher league, and a lot, especially loans, may want to wait to see what other options are available before agreeing to a deal offered by us. Who is to say we don’t have a few premier league hot prospects lined up, who’s parent clubs are waiting until mid August to release?

We are going into the season with three strikers; one rated, one unproven and one very inconsistent. However, the rated striker shouldn’t be underestimated and, as I've said before, we have to trust we’ll have another in soon.

Could you judge his credentials on the number of decent chances he fluffed?
After all a chance is a chance regardless of what position your given.

Am I the only one who thinks Jobello could do a job as a our main striker? at least in the short term while we look to recruit.
If he has 1 left foot and 1 right foot he’d have a massive advantage over our other options.

You can, but I think the majority are in agreement he is more than capable of doing a good job and scoring goals in L1; he did last year from a wider position.

He fluffed chances, as all L1 strikers do, but most importantly he scored more than our other players.

Yes, but scoring more than our other strikers is no measure of achievement.
We have one of the poorest front lines I can ever remember.

And yet finished just outside the playoffs in our first season back in L1. Who'd've thought?

A couple of years ago we had Tudgay and Beavon - things could be worse!
Yep, they really where shit, However I’d have tudgay back in a heart beat in preference to Biamou or Baka.

Oh dear it’s finally come down to debating which of our strike forces are the biggest pile of shit!

That just shows what a missed opportunity we had last season.
We were just 1 half decent striker away from the playoffs.

Wouldn't have made any difference if Burge hadn't lost us at least a dozen points, but I get what you're saying.

That’s also very true, hopefully we’ve solved the keeper problem now.
I think we’re only 1 striker away from being a very very good side. (If we arn’t already)
