Yep, the league will run with fewer teams this year, and the relegation places will be reduced, so if both go bust will be 2 relegation places in league 1. The relegation places would likely be removed in league 2 also, and maybe reduced in conference and below depending on where any reformed clubs are placed - which I expect would be at least the Conference, possibly conference north, but could be lower.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that though.

A bit harsh? I agree, the club aren’t going to refund flights/hotels etc, but this guys a good enough supporter to travel by plane to watch his team, book a hotel, and whatever other costs he’ll incur. Also, you would book some of these things in advance. So rather than call him a moron, perhaps some sympathy is more appropriate?

If you book something before anything is confirmed when a club is threatened with liquidation that missed its last game last season *AND* then ask a club that has absolutely no say in it for some kind of 'gesture' then yes, you are a moron.

Why not go to the game against Southend this weekend which will go ahead and give your money to the club?

If it had only just emerged today that Bolton were up the creek, then fine. But their current mess has been in footballing news for months.

Both Rugby League Challenge Cup semi-finals and the women's rugby league final were played at Boltons ground last Saturday so, clearly, a safety certificate is in place. The ground was nowhere near full but that's not an issue. Why a safety certificate not in place, affects the football club and not other sports, I'd love to know.

Is it a different sort of safety certificate that's required for some reason as the rules are different - no alcohol in the stands etc

It's a common thing these days. People with their hand out from companies because they feel wronged whereas in reality it's actually their own stupidity which caused the issue. Fucking winds me right up.

Pleased for Bolton fans but not looking good for Bury. From the statement it appears if they don’t get it sorted by Friday their game next week will be postponed too. Where do the EFL draw the line? EFL Statement – Bolton Wanderers FC and Bury FC

Fuck sake, what a shower. It should be said in Sisu's defence, during their tenure no staff wages have ever been missed or paid late. The bloke who owns Bolton (Anderson?) has a lot to answer for; he's ultimately the custodian who has taken on the responsibility of the club, even if other parties are far from blameless.

As a club they're a part of the fabric of the game, founder members of the Football League, iconic FA Cup finalists at least twice, contributed the likes of Nat Lofthouse to England...would be a great shame to see them go.

This statement from the EFL doesn't mean our game will go definetly ahead on the 10th. Just means this Saturday away game will be played. Still up in the air regarding there first home game.

Pisses me right off at work. I track literally every click on our website and can prove beyond doubt it’s a customer fuck up. We still give refunds because we don’t want the bad press. These days they write a scathing review full of bullshit before even talking to us.

I'd happily just shame them in reply to the review but not everybody is a dick like me so they just get sorted out.

Great news our Bolton game will be on. They won't be at their strongest by then, and I'm obviously pleased they haven't gone belly up.

Would seem pointless to allow first game to go ahead, then cancel the second. I assume that the EFL have received some reassurances re: Bolton's plans.
