Bring on promotion to the Championship

Come on you Sky Blues!
Bring on St Andrews? Everything okay? Don’t think anyone’s looking forward to it tbh

We have a stadium to play at caused by the cancerous Wasps and CCC. Its not idea byt at least we can crack on. Look at Bolton and Bury, the former may not even start the season!

Mark Robins has been backed by SISU despite the drop in sales and i have full confidence he has improved the team.

So yes, bring it on!

Why wouldnt we ?

Far better pitch more suited to our style of play
Great pubs nearby and travel arranged
Robins has been backed by the owners and we have a side to compete this season

Why wouldnt we be looking forward to it instead of playing in a wasps nest lacking atmosphere with a pitch resembling a ploughed field and lining the pockets of a corrupt council

Hopefully we can stay there forever then.

We don’t know how good the side is yet weather it can compete or not we still need a number 10 & a proper centre forward I feel until we can compete where do you see the goals coming from ?

To be fair you didn't have a clue about our side during last season either.

Why wouldn’t Coventry City fans not look fwd to playing home games not in the city of Coventry ?

The bookies have us about 9th in the League 1 betting, which I think is a fair reflection of where to place our expectations. Anything better than that will be a good season, particularly given the off field distractions.

Disgaree, I think we need to push for top 6. We finished a solid 8th place and we need to keep continuing or else we will jsut become mid-table cannon fodder or worse back to League 2.

If Yeovil and Burton can do it, why can't we?

On reflection, I probably shouldn't have said 'Bring on St Andrews' in my OP.

However, we have to accept we are where we are and its pointless arguing about it. Let's see how it goes, we could be in for a surprise if Northampton was anything to go by!

Admire your attitude and not disagreeing.

Rock and a hard place isn’t it, enough people accept it and who knows where our future could be, not seen enough accept it and our team don’t have any support.

Would rather this than Bolton though !

You misunderstand, there is a big difference between what I hope for, what I expect and what the club should be aiming for. I'm not saying 9th place should be our aim, of course we should push for higher, which I'm sure Robins is trying to do, but it is going to be difficult to do, what with playing our home.games 'away' in front of meagre crowds, and losing the likes of Willis, Davies, Sterling, Thomas, Chaplin & Enobakhare (I won't include Burge) from last seasons squad. Yes we have new players, but at this point we can only guess at their impact. 8th or 9th seems a reasonable expectation right now, while still hoping that the team that Robins is putting together can make the Top 6 if they gel as we want it to.

Not particularly looking forward to SA but cant wait for the football to start, and a little excited thinking it may be a good season.
Time will tell.

I'm looking forward to talking about football again and not council, Wasps and Sisu. Don't think we can challenge with what we have. Don't see enough goals unless the 2 wingers set the league on fire.

Need a better start to the season. 5 points from 6 and 12 points from 11 to start last season left us with too much ground to make up to reach the top 6 for a team that didn’t score many goals.

A bit drunk now, :) but as last season we started getting players weeks after all the other teams i think we done well, That was due to our season extending by 2 weeks or so due to the play-offs. This season we have got players in earlier, so should be more used to our system. style of play. All we can hope is MR has it right. He has stated we are after autos (atleast i think he has, but after a drink i might be wrong) Come on everyone, regardless, let's just support OUR team.

One of the great things I always look forward to in any new season is finding out which of the new players will be key members of the squad, and which will turn out to be duds. Then seeing new songs/chants develop for the ones who do emerge as gems. No predictions from me on this but I hope at least 2-3 of the newbies turn out to be special for us.
