Francis Laurent - Trialist (1 Viewer)

I think he looked quite good when he came on against West Brom. He looked skillful on the ball and a danger down the wing as well as being tall.

He tracked back and put in a couple of good tackles but again this could have been because it was a trial, would he be like this every week?

The only bad side is that he was very unfit and was blowing out of his arse after a run down the wing. Carsley passed it to him and he gave it straight back.

His Wiki says he also plays as a Striker but was released by Southend in July.

It looks as though Boothroyd likes him and is thinking about signing him and it looks as if he was released from Southend because they couldn't afford to keep him rather than him not being good enough.

It is understandable about King, there is no point trying to rush it to sign him as I doubt he isn't match fit so would be in no shape to start against Pompey anyway. He wants to see his family before making a decision.

I think Laurent if fit would be a great signing for us as he gave is a bit of excitement.
