School holidays, first game at st Andrews, the lure of Broad street on a summers evening, it could be anywhere between 5,000 & 10,000. It will be less at the second game.

I’d be happy with 6-7k considering the circumstances. There’ll be extra pressure on MR and the team to perform too, as a convincing performance and victory could both attract more for the next game and maintain some day trippers.

Our team is more experienced this season, with a lot having playing at this level or higher before, so I’d expect them to cope with any extra pressure, be it this game or any other.

Can't believe people are looking at 3k. We've sold 2k season tickets and many, like myself, will be going every Saturday game without a season ticket.

Start of August, good weather, good signings, day out on the piss. Will attract a lot of people, especially young lads.

I think about 5000 - 6000 which, all things considered, would be a decent turnout. Taking my daughter for her first game so hoping we are crammed in rather than spread out ala Ricoh Arena and an atmosphere of sorts is generated. Then when we (hopefully) come back to the Ricoh in front of 30,000 (albeit for a one off) she will be doubly impressed. Do have a good feeling about this squad and it’s literally down the road for us and I intend to make as many games as I can. Will be more (possibly all) if she gets the bug.

Less than 5000

Have to admit, I will be pleasantly surprised if it tops 5k. On the plus side, there will be a few making a first game/day out of it and the odd curious local; however there will be a few absent away for Summer hols. Think the season average will be in the 4,000s (unless we are consistently near the top, in which case it may creep up)

I feel like it’ll be similar to Sixfields and it’ll dwindle. Shit weather and time of KO (which should be normal this time) always seemed to have a part to play. Form as well - people seem to think we’re in for a very good season, despite a ball not being kicked seriously yet.

Crowds at Sixfields didn't dwindle, it was the opposite. Only 1400 City fans turned out against Bristol City for the opening home game, and they grew steadily (with one or two exceptions for midweek/televised games) up until Christmas peaking with the 5K gate against Peterborough (total gate). They did fall away again after that and picked up a bit at the end of the season, but they never fell below the lows we were getting at the start of the season.

There’s a few at the tail end of the season that were lower, when our season was falling away.

I'm not sure about that, there were quite a lot of sub 1500 home gates towards the end of the season.

Last 3 home games were MK Dons (2782, 1731 home), Swindon (3091, 1999 home), Wolves (4252, 2082 home). I think it bottomed out against Stevenage in March, but the 1260 home fans that day wasn't too dissimilar to the turn out for the first couple of games. The point being that the crowds at the end of the season were about the same as the start of the season, with a bit of a hump in the middle. They didn't dwindle from start to finish as was suggested.
