Has anybody seen the pitch at the Ricoh since that Monster Truck event ? and what state it might be in ?
It'll have to be sorted out before the rugby season starts. When is that?

Any idea on when this is ?
A long fucking time if Real Madrids case is anything to go by, maybe im reading it wrong, complaint in 2011, decision to instigate the investigation 2013, case decided 2016 taken from here Case search - Competition - European Commission also CURIA - Documents
There is also an update to this that was finalised in 2018 i think may of been earlier this year, overuling the original decision iirc.

Could be several years before the complaint is looked at let alone any investigation into it.

it could well be several years. one things for sure, its going to be an interesting few years ahead.

The EFL wont be driving the return to Coventry agenda part , I cant see SISU building a stadium (happy to be wrong) and with SISU saying 3 clubs were happy for us to rent, we could be gone for a lot longer than people think.

me personally, I am not sure how many years it would take for CCFC to play outside Coventry to mean that it would ceases to become Coventry City for me

I don't know the answer, it could be 5, it could be indefinite.

Curious if anyone else has any thoughts ?

ie, if we rented in Birmingham for 3 years and their circumstances changes so we had to move to rent at West Brom, does that matter etc.

My thinking before we left the Ricoh was if we do it would be 5-10 years until we returned

Frankly, both sides are damaged by our absence from Coventry. Therefore, I think both sides will eventually come to an agreement at some point.

Head: we’ll be gone for 5 years

Heart: We’ll get promoted and Wasps will come to some agreement.

Needs to be a way for Wasps to save some face here, obviously feel Sisu were taking the piss with the EU case not being mentioned but in the cold light of day what’s done is done and there’s no point cutting off their nose to spite their face. I’m hoping a season away will clear some minds.

Really hope we just build a ground and end all this crap.

You think Wasps genuinely didn't know about the EU case until Gilbert broke it, mid-talks?

On your point, personally I could cope with 10 years away as logistically it doesn’t matter to me where we play but we will be at a disadvantage not having home games with a partisan crowd. I couldn’t cope with a name change or perm move out of cov though, but that said, 10 years is pretty perm, so i suspect my line is somewhere between 5 and 10 years.

Suppose it won’t be tested until that happens

Not living in cov, I suspect I have a different view to coventrians who are used to home games within 30 mins of their house

I do. Unless you have something to show otherwise it’s the most logical conclusion.

I’m generally not a conspiracy theorist. I go with Hanlons Razor and assume incompetence explains most things. I can believe that they didn’t know. Aside from anything else, why wouldn’t they publicise it when they found out? It was an instant PR win.

A London rugby club being invited to buy the stadium should have set alarm bells ringing in your head a lot earlier.

It's not a conspiracy theory is it?
Throughout this whole saga stories have been fed to the press so this would just be another one to add to the list.
The alternative is that Gilbert actually went out, did some digging and found the story himself which really is highly unlikely.

Talked to people who run the coaches 2nd pick up point after White St will be Ricoh on Tesco side by train station.
Will we be able to park our cars there free of charge as can't walk that far from our house (hence why we had to pay for car parking at the Ricoh previously).
Christ the King car park on Winding House Lane would have been a good place.

It is the definition of a conspiracy theory. It’s based on the idea that multiple people conspired to hold back information with no proof other than your own prejudice against Gilbert. The fact you have to find yourself having the position that a journalist finding information is highly unlikely to make it hang together should be massive red flags.

I’m sorry you don’t like the words we use in English to define things.

I rather like the conspiracy theory that SISU were Gilbert's source, myself...

It just doesn’t make a lick of sense if you’re not frothing about Wasps 24:7.

Even if we take at face value the other conspiracy theory it relies on that Wasps are trying to kill CCFC, what difference does it make whether you enter negotiations and then call them off because of this or you refuse to negotiate in the first place? If anything you avoid the false hope and the questions around the exact definition of the prerequisites for talks and getting fans hopes up.

Literally the sole “evidence” is people’s hatred of some of the actors involved. “Well Wasps *would* do that wouldn’t they?” Or “Ha! Gilbert isn’t a real journalist!”

It’s the “Joys handbags” and “asset stripping” of the pro Sisu side. And deserves just as much derision.

I know what a conspiracy is but the term conspiracy theory is often used, as you used it, to disparage a theory as you don't agree with as ridiculous.
You're right, I don't have any proof it was leaked to Gilbert, in the same way you don't have any proof he uncovered the complaint himself, but I don't consider him a very good journalist, coupled with the timing, is why I think it was leaked to him.

As for this comment,
"I’m sorry you don’t like the words we use in English to define things"

don't be such a fucking prick.

Hasn’t Gilbert said that it was Wasps that gave him the information?

just checked, Gilbert first mentioned it on his Twitter saying sources had told BBC Cov and Wark that sisu had lodged the complaint so to be fair to him he didn't claim to have uncovered the story but it does confirm that someone went to the press with it.

Sure I've seen him reply to someone querying his claim that talks were called off, something both Wasps and CCFC have publicly said didn't happen, saying that Wasps gave him the information about the EC complaint and talks ending in private.

Definitely tweeted something along the lines of his source being someone high up.

The council would have had notice of the complaint by April easily. They of course wouldn't have kept that secret from Wasps as it is potentially a material issue for them. Therefore, I think it's reasonable to believe that Wasps knew about the EC complaint.

The club said before there were a couple of sticking points and that was one of them didn't they?
