Given we have the funds for either one of Tyler Walker or Mcnulty, which one would you rather us go for and why?

What's with all the McNulty chat? I don't get it. If we're selling Chaplin realistically it's because we aren't going to play a system that suits him (2 up top with a striker next to him), the exact same theory rings true for McNulty.

Tough call. Would Walker offer us more pace? If so then would just plump for him I think.

Walker.. The lad has more pace, he's younger, if his potential was realised with CCFC his sell on value would be higher, fit's the dynamic of the squad we are building.

Robins knows how to get a tune out of McNulty, sometimes however good players are they don't fit. Walker bags of ability and greater potential, but if that's the case then so does Chaplin.

Personally I don't think we'll get either and I'm not too fussed tbh, providing we get Bright. He's the biggest key to us having a successful season imo.

McNulty was anonymous in the system we're currently trying to play. He would have to have a big striker next to him to do the dirty work and the jury is out there whether Biamou can cope at this level and Baka was hit and miss last season.

We wouldn't be able to afford his wages anyway so it's not really worth discussing is it?

Walker all day long me, has been unlucky with injuries at times in his career so far and with the amount of managers he’s been under, but definitely has the potential to play at a higher level. Great finisher, and has a knack of finding space in the box. Hopefully the new guy in charge of Forest won’t rate him because he’s not Portuguese

Mcnulty all day long if he had fast wingers either side of him and Allan and bayliss breaking tru the middle he would score goals

Never go back...it will never be the same. They had different players providing the service, different understandings too

Normally I would agree but Doyle was much better in his second spell than his first.

I don’t know enough about Walker. I loved McNulty but I strongly suspect the ship sailed some time ago.

But is there any evidence that we are in with a shout of either ?

Doyle was playing at a lower level in his second spell.

It's Walker all day long as he'd have resale value. McNulty would have little to no resale value as he's shown he can't make the step up. That's assuming Walker is permanent, suspect a loan is more likely.

Doyle was playing 2 standards lower when he returned so I hardly think that counts.

Can either play the lone striker role?

Can’t seem to find agreement online as to whether Mansfield played 352 or 3421 last season.

Walker for me; pace and room to develop. A different type of player to McNulty and Chaplin. Counter attack football with Allen and two wingers providing speed.
McNulty had his day here and won’t be any improvement on Chaplin

Walker due to profile of player in terms of age, resale value.

The lad from Doncaster I think fits the bill but the player I most want is Tom Eves from Gillingham. Terrorised us on community day and has a record of 34 in 80 games which is superb and is on a free transfer due to his contract running down.

Sign them both and keep Chaplin...... we'll need all of them when we're winning the league, Checkatrade, Carabao cup and Fa Cup.

There is always the exception to the rule - I'll give you that. How to spot before taking the chance though?
