Been listening to a debate on the radio earlier about Morrissey and his comments over politics and other stuff. He's always been outspoken in his music, and has a opinion on life in the UK often. Not sure what he's done as I missed the opening part of the programme, but some of his fans have binned his records, and a few shops won't now sell his music. I've never been a Smiths fan but find Morrissey an interesting character. Anybody know what he's done to cause this anger ?

I believe he’s been expressing some rather right wing views of late. Not sure of the exact details but he’s been ruffling some feathers for a while

Been bigging up Britain's first

I remember seeing Morrisey support madness at Finsbury park, the same people he's now throwing his hand in with were throwing piss at him and calling him a queer.
I still love his music

I think it was For Britain rather than Britain Furst. But it’s another anti Islamic cult so very much the same.

Still love his music too. Robbie Keanes cousin also.

Just to add that saying something stupid is a long held hobby of Morrisseys. This is nothing new.

He wore a For Britain badge and has said that Farage would make a fantastic PM. Today he has basically said that 'everybody prefers their own race'.

I'm not sure if he deliberately says things to wind people up but he's been doing this for years. He called the Chinese a subspecies which is far worse IMO. Not sure why people are so shocked.

If it's the same roasters who.plan to disrupt the Durham miners gala then they're anti British working class as well

IIRC the Chinese remark was in reference to animal rights, something that boils his piss and makes him say some ridiculous things without engaging his brain first. I know Halal meat also boils his piss so I wouldn’t be surprised if his anti Islam rhetoric stems from that.

A music journalist on the programme said Morrissey is just a wind up merchant, and to take it all with a pinch of salt. And added if we looked through our record collection we'd find music from some really vile human beings, but would we bin them ? He said probably not !

I have never heard anything by Morrisey or the Smiths (seriously), so I can't comment on his music. Not sure I'd actually like it, but anyone in the public eye really should engage their brain before opening their gobs. I remember when John Lennon said the Beatles were bigger than Jesus. That was taken totally out of context. What he meant was, that more people had heard of the Beatles (at that time) than they'd heard of JC. It was probably true but the religious nuts in the bible belt of the US took it all wrong and burned effigies of them and their records. Ah well. I still think they were greater than Jesus!

As you're an atheist Houch you can't say the Beatles are/were greater than Jesus, as you don't believe in him. See how words can be taken out of context !

I've never said I didn't believe in someone called Jesus, BBR. I just don't believe he (or anyone else) was the "son of god". It's god that I don't believe in. ;)

As did his first three solo albums with tracks titled:-
“Bengali in Platforms” (includes the refrain ‘Life is hard enough when you belong here’)
“Asian Rut” and “National Front Disco”

I always thought National front disco was about the ludicrousness of extreme right wing groups and the fuck wits who join them to be honest.
