Sky Blue Trust Statement Regarding Consortium Meeting

The Sky Blue Trust have issued the following statement regarding their meeting with the consortium

Following a series of comments made in the press and on various Social Media channels.

The Sky Blue Trust would like to make the following statement:-

"Trust representatives met a small number of representatives of the Gary Hoffman consortium on a few occasions to hear about their proposals. On each occasion they were unable to tell us who all the consortium members were. The Trust is not and never has been a member of the consortium. If the Trust wanted to take part in a purchase of the Club, it would have to raise funds via a Community Share scheme. The Trust could only start the process for that if there were a realistic prospect that a sale could be achieved. That stage has never been reached."

“Wasps were not involved in or represented at any of the meetings the Trust attended.”

"A totally separate set of discussions between Trust representatives and Wasps directors did take place, but were solely aimed at trying to find a solution for CCFC to stay at the Ricoh."

I still don't understand why the majority of you on here don't form your own Cov Trust, what's actually stopping you all doing it?

No comment on Wasps being involved in the takeover?

Has anybody ever actually suggested that the Trust themselves would be taking over? I was always under the impression it was more that certain individuals on the trust board and people associated with them were pushing for the Hoffman consortium to takeover.

At least they finally admit they were meeting with Hoffman and keeping that secret from members.

Why have they mentioned Wasps not being there? It looks like Wasps have said 'say we weren't there'...

It's like when I got home from work last night, the first thing I said to my wife as I walked through the door was, "I definitely didn't have five chicken selects, large fries and a milkshake at lunch. Who said I did?"

Considering every time they are asked to make a statement about something they ignore it, I'd say it's more telling they rushed to make one.

What happened in the meeting with wasps? Wasn't this before they were applauded?

It would be more trustworthy having a new trust who communicate daily on every CCFC topic possible. This forum has the potential to have enough recognizable people to form one. The only advantage people have on here with their discussions about CCFC is their anonymity. I'd certainly pay towards a new trust formed by figures on here who clearly have a more balanced view on our situation as a club.

Just a thought for this forum anyway ;)

A new trust wouldn’t work - as the official trust will always have media coverage - what’s needed first is a no confidence motion across the current board due to their stance not representing the fan base and forcing the whole board to stand down.

They didn’t need to be part of their consortium to be doing their bidding, plenty of other ways for them to be rewarded for their efforts if the result ended up the right one. They are a bunch of self-serving duplicitous idiots who have been sucked in by some hollow flattery and are too fucking scared to come out and actually nail their flag to the mast because they know they are only where they are because, as they like to remind us at every opportunity, they are the number 1 fans group based on their one off membership fee and inaccessible meetings. A corrupt little closed shop failing the manifesto they were elected to follow. This is a classic example - of all the revelations we’ve had in the last couple of weeks and the trust is coming out with a statement which is nothing more than a damage limitation/ self preservation exercise following on from their crazy stadium costs output.

It’s a really accurate summation, no one should attend their dumb meetings - unless of course a motion to force the whole board to resign due to membership no confidence is allowed at a meeting...

Slightly odd timing as well. This isn't something new, its been talked about for literally years, why come out with this statement now?

Come on chief. Hasn't there been posts on here wondering what the next trust statement will be? The Wasps connection is a hot subject right now, if they said nothing, you would have been all over it for that, so why are you surprised they made a statement now?.

And nothing new? Yet you state that at least they admit to meeting, and keeping it a secret from members. Didn't we all know they met? If so, it wasn't a secret. If we didn't know, then its something new. Which way do you want it?

I didn't know they met. As a trust member that doesn't support the idea of a zombie franchise taking over my beloved football club, they can fuck right off. What happened at this meeting exactly?

I don't think the present media coverage is doing them any favours, is it?

There has been many posts asking them to make statements, almost begging them to which have gone ignored. I wonder if the meetings explain the applause wasps got and refusal to say anything bad about them?

Strange how the statement is to distance themselves rather than say how disgusted they were hearing it.

Yes indeed there has. Most were hoping a statement would be on the way condemning Wasps and CCC, something that to date the trust have seemed very reluctant to do. What we've got couldn't be further from that.

I would suggest the big topic of discussion the last 48 hours hasn't been have the trust ever met with Hoffman and / or Wasps. It was more the comments made by Sepalla and Overson. So again I would have expected a statement saying that the trust in no uncertain terms does not support a takeover of CCFC that involves a rugby club that happily moved halfway across the country.
And nothing new? Yet you state that at least they admit to meeting, and keeping it a secret from members. Didn't we all know they met? If so, it wasn't a secret. If we didn't know, then its something new. Which way do you want it?
You're confusing two things here. Its been talked about for literally years, going back to the PK4 mess, that the trust were playing a dangerous game siding with attempts to force ownership. Yes, the trust before now have never openly admitted these meetings took place but its hardly an earth shattering revelation and again is not what needs to be focused on at the moment.

As a fully paid up £1 member of the Trust i left a comment after the statement asking why we are nt confronting Franchise London Wasps and the Council as well as those damned villians SIsu. I will await the reply.

I do in principal like the idea and 100% would be on board with the concept. Would be very 21st century rather than meeting over beers in a Coventry pub.

If people are serious....

How would this work?
How would we 'meet'?
How would we table agenda items?
How do we were out the WUMs

Edit...the more I think about this is possible

If you can make it I believe there’s a growing number of us planning on attending the next Trust meeting (15th July) to drive this very point. The more the merrier.

Make sure it's constructive and not people just throwing accusations around (which becomes plain embarrassing) Hopefully those attending want to provide positive input (my first thought was of one of those old Frankenstein films where the local villagers all marched on the castle, pitchforks and torches at the ready!)

Edit: although I don't know much about the Trust members, I do have time for CJ, who comes across as a decent bloke.

A disgusting foul mouthed rant directed towards a group of football club supporters who have a different point of view re the solution to a crisis at our club ,liked by some of the usual. Don’t set up a rival group , roll up to meetings introduce your point ,argue it well and try to change minds

But we dont really know their views are or what they are doing. Obviously they have their own agenda and do not include their members

Perhaps I should roll up to North Korea and turn it into a capitalist society - I’m sure they’d listen to me

Ooh you’re right. I used a swear word once. How disgustingly foul mouthed. Is the best you can do to try and discredit my post on a swear word and roll out the tired old line of ‘well why don’t you do something about it’ line? As a trust, their point of view is supposed to represent that of the majority of their members. They’re not, they’re following their own private agenda. One person turning up to a deliberately difficult to attend meeting is, by design, not going to change a thing.
