You mean Hoffman elliot etc.. Personally very disappointed they allowed WASPs in and been part of this dubious tactic, always saw the Hoff as a good guy

They also allowed Dale Evans in.

He also helped bring SISU in didn't he?

CCC approved SISU's ownership also. But as underhand as all this is, are we all just hoping for a favourable EC ruling because if that fails where do we go from there hoping WASPs continue to fail that may take years

And if they go too far and distress the club til it folds, plan b is the trust have it in writing for a Phoenix club to play at the Ricoh.
All bases covered.

Strange how the trust wanted to play it down when David Johnson slipped up with those comments at a meeting wasn't it? How did he know a Phoenix Club could play at the Ricoh?

Sad that it takes Overson coming out and directly saying it before the Telegraph wake up to what is going on.

Certainly explains why Hoffman said the other day he’s not bidding again.

Maybe finally the Telegraph and CWR will wake up and actually do their jobs.

I don't really care about the EC ruling, but if it does find something amiss then I want the council coffers reimbursed and the people responsible for the irregularity investigated.

I don't want Coventry tax payers money used to subsidise an out of town rugby club.

I think when he means by involved is that they may have given contractual details to Hoffman to help him get a financial picture of what the club may be worth. It's not a direct conversation of you give us a 20% stake for free access to the stadium and f and b income. Either way it's fucking underhand and Hoffman needs to be questioned on it. And they say hedge funds are underhand!

But you do care because if the case is proven it will impact on WASPs / Ricoh and CCFC. However if there is no case what's SISU's next strategy ?

Enough to make a member of the consortium drop out?

I don't care in as much as I'm not rooting for an outcome either way. I just hope if there is something a miss, it picks up on it.

one glance at Gary Hoffman,s cv shows what a successful and competent man he is , he is also a life long fan of ccfc what i cant understand how he has made such a complete horlicks of running the consortium trying to buy ccfc frankly nasal nige could of done better

I'd put that down to the fact that they now have direct quotes from Overson they can use
Previously there has been supposition & suspicion but now we have someone at the heart of things who's brave enough to stand up and be counted
Richard Overson is coming out of this with a lot of credit

I think you're giving them too much credit mate.
They've been hopeless at best and at worse have allowed themselves to be manipulated in order to push an agenda.

It's taken far too long for this to blow up in the public domain. Questions needed to be asked sooner, they should have been all over it.

He even said, the only reason this has come to light is because the press decided to speak to him about the ST donation.

He sounds pretty open to it all so I'd expect one call a few months ago from the telegraph and he would have spoken then. The telegraph have come across this by accident not by decent journalism.

so what does everyone think is going on here?
The timing of this is a bit strange coming so soon after the Joy interview.
Anyone got any theories as to what the agenda is? I personally haven't a clue though it's proven a few things most of us were already fairly certain about regarding the cartels involvement in all of this. .

Not having that, there was an article hidden away in the print version that mentioned it. They didn't mention anything online about it or dig any further into it.

Same as it always has been, get rid of SISU at all costs regardless of the damage it causes. Get a yes man in.

I'm talking about Overson Nick, are you?
I'd take it at face value. The CT spoke to him about the donation so he took the chance to point out he was no longer in the consortium as he'd seen people on line (presumably this forum) saying he was.

As crap at journalism as the telegraph are if someone tells you they've left the consortium there's no way you don't follow that up with asking them why.

Oh sorry, just was in general.

I am not sure, I know he supports the academy an awful lot and made the donation as well. I assume his donation was to get one up over Joy with the amount he donated.

I had heard he had left the consortium.

Wasn't it rumoured that Bryan Richardson had joined the consortium? if so maybe Overson left because of him?

One of the good things about Overson coming out and saying this is he has a level of credibility pretty much everyone else involved in this saga lacks. Be pretty hard for Wasps or the council, or even the likes of the Wasps forum members, to just dismiss what he has said.

I initially thought that too but he also donated £1,040 which is exactly 4 adult season tickets. I imagine as cash isn't really a barrier for him, he wanted to donate a whole amount in terms of season tickets.

Ranson has been seen at games recently with Hoffman and Elliott, are you getting mixed up with him? Or maybe Derek Richardson the Wasps owner.

could be, but there has been so much coming out in the media recently that I'm sceptical.

He sounds like the sort of person that I'd be happy to have involved in the club. Has a decent personal fortune that he could waste but more than that seems to genuinely care about the club. Heard there was an opportunity to get involved so did, walked away when it became apparent it was dodgy and didn't let that cloud his judgement so got involved in a different way by supporting the academy. No previous involvement with any of the dodgy characters on any side and seems level headed and decent.
