They are going to be stuck with a white elephant so will want to get a tennant.

That’s the line to ensure the Ricoh battle continues. If what you say is true, the activity towards reviewing the new stadium site should already have been ramped up as we are not playing in Coventry any more.

Ironically the situation at the London Olympic stadium somewhat mirrors that at the Ricoh
Blunders made at the planning stage meant that it wasn't designed for conversion to a football stadium after the games
As football is the only sport that can sustain a large stadium without public funds a decision was eventually made to sell it to West Ham after the games ended
A number of objectors ran off to the EC to say the deal was unfair as it involved state aid in the form of a loan from the local council
The EC ruled the deal illegal so the sale was cancelled and the current leasing arrangements with West Ham and British Athletics followed
These were also botched so the London tax payers are currently still subsiding it because of the huge costs of converting it for a few days of athletics every summer
I suggested in an earlier post that maybe the best solution to avoid Alexander stadium becoming a white elephant is to build a new stadium on the northern side of Coventry which we can move into afterwards as Man City did after the Manchester games
Ps I expect that the EC will see the Olympic stadium case as a precedent and rule that Coventry council acted contrary to EU law in it's deal with Wasps

How exactly would we see it happening? It is the home of & Headquarters for British Athletics. I cannot see them selling up & moving. And SISU wouldn't be keen anyway imo - Walsall is a stone's throw away one way, Villa the other

Any sign of the club buying a permanent home out of the city and the support would disappear. As others have said, perfect for the insects, better size for them and there is a bigger (and potential less fickle) population to tap in to.

For me personally, there's a limit to how long I can support us playing outside of Cov no matter who's responsible.

I don't know to be honest but I don't think I could keep going outside of Cov indefinitely. It's just depressing.
