No chance. First game at St Andrews will attract a good 6-8k.

Will be a lot of lads fancying a day out in the pubs on what could be a sunny August day.

I think 1st game will surprise a few people. Any prediction is just a guess, but I think it will exceed most people's expectations.

Can see us taking 4k to most big away games with MK causing us to make the national papers. MK away actually our opportunity to show the wider footballing world how well a supported club we are and highlight our plight. What's our record down there? Let's put 2,000 on that number this season if we can.
Ha highlight our plight. Ironic

Fans will still go in their numbers to away games, St Andrews is not an away game I would say a hardcore of about 2K plus away fans and then odds and sods on the day

I am still at a loss as to why fans will not go to St Andrews to say fuck you SISU but will attend the MK Dons to the tune of 5/6k supporters and give money to a business that moved their club away from Wimbledon and franchised it into Milton Keynes. Where is the difference? Ironic if you ask me

I don't understand those who say 'away games only'. Their choice, and I guess this is their way of supporting the club. What they are saying in effect though, is that they want to support the club, but also want others to fund the club on their behalf. They'll go away and cheer on players who are being financed by those going to St Andrews, people a lot of them criticise.

It is a weird situation how some people are willing to give money to all clubs in league 1, except for the club they actually support.

Tbh, I've got more respect for those who don't go at all than those only going to away games.

To be honest I don't think those that say 'away games only' actually go anyway. (On the whole)

In my experience away supporters tend to be the hardcore supporters, the same 1000/2000 that went to Northampton and will go to Birmingham.

Then for the big away games or the closer ones, these people jump in, just for a day on the pisser. The majority of people that say it are drama queens and just want some attention.

I’d hope we average about 5-6k at “home” next season. Haven’t we already sold 1k STs?

MK's an opportunity to show that it doesn't matter where you move a club, people'll forget and turn up anyway...

I was talking about the away game at MK where we could end up taking more fans away that we get at home games! Surely this would highlight our plight as I said before?
Adopting your logic it seems you would prefer us have pitiful home and away support? Please say if i have misunderstood something, but for me not a penny more shows nothing and also means the lads waring our badge get no support to the point it could hamper our promotion hopes. Not sure that proves or archives anything posative at all?

It genuinely has gone straight over your head. It's quite funny when people just repeat highlight Our plight because they heard the bandwagon say it.

Bandwagon? Not aware I have been on or am on one of those Nick? I am saying by taking huge numbers to away games we highlight to the wider footballing world that we have a big fan base that has been made homeless by people with dubious morals or frankly don't give a dam about CCFC. The more it features in the national press, the more uncomfortable it is for the council, wasps and sisu and they will all be named and shamed to differing extents. What better way will ccfc fans have the ability to make this a story than outnumbering the home fans at away matches? There are other methods for sure, maybe a naked swim across the channel in CCFC socks!! but this one has on the field benefits too.

It seems a few (from reading this thread) seem to have a problem with fans who have decided just to go to away games. I get the “ironic” slur of people who will pile on the bandwagon for MK Dons-doesn’t really take a lot of working out that one!
Not sure that everyone else who goes to the other 20 odd games though should be tarred with the same brush.
As a side note, I wonder how many on here who have purchased season tickets and have a go at people going away only will be going to away games themselves? Or will they be sitting at home in their arm chairs firing the shots?

Nobody is saying they don't want large away followings. Of course we do. And a couple of enormous followings will get a little bit attention like you say.

The issue is those who plan only to attend away games. We need people to back the club by attending home games, even if not as frequently as they usually would, because the future of the club depends on it. We need to get through next season and limit the damage as much as possible.

We have people calling people scabs for attending SA and in the next breath saying 'announce Bright!' Makes no sense.

Don't be fooled by all the transfer activity. We're gambling. It's a massive roll of the dice in the hope we can get up next season. Spoke to somebody who had a meeting with Boddy last week. Won't got into detail, but when it came round to discussing financing the project in question Boddy simply said 'can't do it, we're broke'.

We need to back the club.

TBH, I was referring to those who do 20+ away games more than the casual traveller.

To do that many away games is a huge commitment to the club, it's an outstanding effort. It's just strange that people are planning to do that, but are refusing to contribute financially to the club they clearly care a great deal about.

I got it at Northampton, because there was an easy route back. This is different though, I think the vast majority agree on that. Anyhow, like I said, their choice and I wouldn't want this to become yet another cause of division.

If that’s what Broddy said it ain’t going to get better, playing all season in Brum will cost the business massively something got to give can’t see our owner stumping up the dosh.

They must already have put in significant amounts - the funding will be 2-3 million - it’s going to be a one season funding project for whatever reason

Yep, that seems to be happening on here too, not sure why, think anyone who “supports” CCFC home or away or both should be commended.

Essentially because it’s odd given that the funds committed go to the 23 other clubs and not the club they support

However you look at it that’s odd

So on that basis then the people who are going to St Andrews should be buying the most expensive tickets/corporate/executive boxes et al to show the best commitment to the club they support?

No why? Its spending money to assist the club not its competitors wherever they sit whereas your approach is the opposite

A bigger statement would be to sell out away games but take nobody to MK. If you really can’t see why going to games at MK while refusing to attend St Andrew’s is flawed there is nothing anybody can do for you

Details matter liquid and northern and I would like either of you to highlight where I have said either 1. I will not be going to home games 2. Where i have ever said only go to away games.

I see your point about selling out every away end bar MK and if that gets us exposure I am all for it. My point was about getting the national media involved and they report things like biggest away attendances of which we were one a couple of seasons ago at MK. I don't care how we get the spotlight on the council, wasps and sisu as long as it's on people's radars.

As for the sly "there is no helping you" dig. Totally not called for and I could respond in kind but that would devalue the conversation.

So get the national media invoilved by showing how give it a few years, and any bugger'll turn up to a club wherever you move it, and clubs may as well go wherever they feel like it for that very reason.

Bonkers!

Na, dont agree, sorry. If you’re concept is to be followed you are telling everyone to just go to St Andrews and don’t bother going to any away games to support the team.

No I’m saying the logical pathway is to supply the club with a revenue stream first

Did you go to any games last season that generated revenue for the club?

Adge

Up until November no I didn’t. But results/performances and missing it made me go back. Think I only missed 2 or 3 then until the end of the season home and away.

Sorry misunderstood you-L2 please see above. But last season went to most.

Nopm until we win a few. Wish they would pipe down about their morals if they have to keep doing u turns all the time, hardly consistent.
