This guy causes trouble wherever he goes
While at West Ham he was getting mini-cabs on the club account to take him back to Manchester to go clubbing
An extremely disruptive lad with mates who make Jonno Clark-Harris look like a choir boy

I hear you 'better days' but in terms of gangsta pecking order and on all recent evidence Morrison would surely cower at the sight of Cov legend Hickman rolling into the dressing room and staring him down.

Was JCH actually a problem while here? Remember an interview with Farndon where he said all the tatts and 'bad boy' image was a bit of a front and underneath all that he's a nice lad?

I think it was more to do with his time here in the academy. Young lad getting loads of praise and hype and let it go to his head. I think probably getting released helped him sort himself out a bit.

I am probably misreading it but in terms of the match day squad:-

1. Burge, Sterling and Thomas have been replaced. The new goalkeeper is an upgrade, but the others, because they replace good loanee players may not be as good.
2. Willis has been replaced by someone who sounds as though he is better on the ball and more savvy, but will not be as quick.
3. Otherwise we have accumulated strength that will help through the season as injuries and suspensions take their toll.
4. There are two big missings - a ball breaking crunching defensive midfielder to sit in front of the back 4, and additional striking power to solve last season's biggest single problem area - scoring goals, that is unless the dutch guy is seen as a replacement for Bright.
5. There will be at least two loanees to come
6. Bayliss is a potential cash cow. His net contribution declined sharply in the second half of the season and Shipley is no long term replacement

The question is also should we be so excited about players about whom we know nothing except a You Tube clip of their selected best bits? Last season there was a fair degree of continuity from the promotion year which by and large is a good thing, but this year is more like two seasons ago, when Robins built the team almost from scratch, and it's a bit of an unknown quantity

Therefore for me, although it does look as though they have a plan, the jury is still firmly out on the summer's trading so far,

The players we have signed whilst unknown all have pedigree in higher leagues than ours. Dabo for example has far more experience than Sterling did and is older. When we signed Enobakhare we were told by Kilmarnock fans he was useless yet now every single fan would take him back.
McFadzean, Rose and Dabo for Willis, Davies and Sterling is definitely not a downgrade. 2 new wingers which was a position we lacked last season, 1 of which was courted by Huddersfield just 2 seasons ago. Hiwula can potentially now be a proper striker. Biamou back. A better pedigree keeper too.

If we add a central midfielder to back up Kelly and either Enobakhare or similar I believe is most definitely an upgraded squad.

Sounds like a fair assessment to me. Slightly harsh on Shipley, I think he’s potentially decent, and a different sort of player to Bayliss although I understand why comparisons can be made.

Yeah Shipley is a decent squad player who can be used in a couple of positions and manages to do bits.

I agree Shipley is a handy squad player and worth keeping for that.
I am puzzled how we get a strong defensive midfielder plus a replacement for Bayliss plus Kelly into a two man central midfield?

Part of the reason I like the off-season is because we get these new faces in and you can imagine they're going to set the world alight and how great next season's going to be. It's the reality of when matches start that ruins it when some of those players don't settle or turn out to be shite/lazy.

Robins hoping to get a 12th man on the pitch? Rush goalie?
The thing I hope for from transfers is that they improve on what we had before. As you say, a few/most of our newbies are unknown quantities. Still exciting though! I’ve always loved a ‘foreign signing’.

Forest will surely be keeping Walker next season after how many goals he scored... can’t see it but would love it to happen! He looked brilliant for Mansfield

I'm not so sure, Forest are looking to get promoted from the Championship so may be looking at higher profile players. It's not obvious that strikers who can get 20+ goals in L2 can do it in the Championship. McNulty and Mo Eisa being recent examples.

I’d deffo take Walker though would be decent! Is Panda reliable when it comes to transfers?

He signed a 4 year deal at forest and is only half way through it so even if they would let him go he’d command a sizeable fee
