Just looking on the Blackburn website and can’t seem to see any signings, meanwhile Robins has signed 9 players already...

I'd argue the club was at a different stage when Mowbray was here, yea we signed players too late but that's that.
Since us he took Blackburn up (with a very good budget too) and whilst he was here I thought we played some outstanding football at times.. Some of the best over the last 20 years to watch.

I liked him tbh

Can't argue with the stats, they suggest Robins has been the better manager for Coventry... I hope he's here for many years to come

There was obviously something going on behind the scenes that summer but I just couldn't understand why he let Vincelot go for almost nothing without a replacement lined up.

He could never use the excuse of something going on behind the scenes as there always is at this soap opera club

Yes, agreed. But just look at the crap Robins is having to put up with!!! For the record I liked Mowbray too, but have been so, so impressed by Robins.

Martin I can understand if he thought he could get better because he was out of contract, a bad decision in the end but I sort of get the logic but Vincelot was all over the place. We also managed to replace Armstrong and Murphy with Agyei and Wright.

People go on about Mowbray and not being able to sign people but in the January before it went downhill he brought in about 8 or 9 players in that window. It's just that they were shite.

Mowbray - 1st half of that season was awesome. Second half shite. Obviously.

I liked his approach to attacking football was great to watch - but I suppose MRs pragmatism is what we need at the mo. Both good managers IMO.

Only one is going to have a statue outside the Ricoh/St. Andrews/Council house/Woodlands/Hearsall Common/Memorial Park though.

Robins has been better than Mowbray for Coventry City.

Our recruitment strategy has been head and shoulders better under Robins:
- Targets have been identified and brought in much earlier

- Long term strategy; investing in development players who have potential to start in 1st XI e.g. Hyam

- Recruitment team has been brought in specifically to identify targets. Venus, in contrast, was an assistant and de facto chief scout.

- This preseason, we’ve looked to sign players from abroad — demonstrating a wider scouting network than we’ve seen for years

- reliance on permanent transfers as opposed to loans. Robins got some good talent on loan, but his strategy has been to build a squad of permanent players. Mowbray relied on loans too much.

Ultimately, we weren’t in a financial position to give Mowbray the best chance to succeed with us back in 2015-17. Robins is in a better position to do well with us.

We should've got top 6 in 2016 with the squad Mowbray had, if not automatic promotion.

Second half of the season was shit and any other manager with the run of form he was on would've been sacked.

Accommodating Joe Cole in the squad abd selling Madison on the January transfer deadline day didn't help his historical second half poor run of form at Middlesbrough.

Mowbray has done well with Blackburn. Personally I think it's all about strikers. If you have goal scorers you will do well. Even Pressely did well with Wilson and Clarke. Robins had Mcgoldrick first time round, Mcnulty second time. Mowbray had Armstrong firing first 1/2 of the season but once he dried up he struggled. He's had Bradley Dack at Blackburn.
