Things that annoy you (5 Viewers)

Probably been said before, but... everything. Everything is annoying me at the moment.

The world definitely seems so much angrier these days and not a day goes by without me having someone undertake or overtake me at 50-60mph on a normal 30mph residential street. I've even stopped tutting with it all now.

More and more cars than ever going over red lights too and way, way after the lights have turned red.

I have also noticed a really massive increase in the amount of those cream chargers about. I take my dog to the park very early in the morning and always see loads of them around the Wallace and the Shepherd. Discarded balloons everywhere too and then when I get to the park, there are stacks of them and loads of empty boxes everywhere.

Putting aside any health implications, I now also wonder about the environmental damage and harm to wildlife. These balloons aren't just going to biodegrade are they. Massive increase in them now on the city's streets and in the parks.

The other thing too, is litter. It is now getting absolutely ridiculous. People seemingly now just discard everything without so much as a blink of an eye.
They just casually flick cigarette butts onto the street and pavement, toss empty beer bottles and takeaway wrappers out of car windows and just drop sweet and chocolate wrappers to the ground with no thought.

In town the other day I saw some woman walking in Broadgate, take out at a piece of paper from her handbag, read it and then casually rip it into little pieces while she was walking and just let them scatter to the floor as she walked off. She was about 10 feet away from a bin.

There just seems to be a 'I will do whatever I want, whenever I want' culture about.

I see it all the time.

Lack of empathy, lack of care, lack of consideration.

Ohhh.....and happy Father's Day.

Totally agree Otis, the throw away society and ‘someone else will do it’ approach (reminds me of the simpsons episode when homer is king of trash!). There doesn’t feel like there is any pride in where people live anymore, I am constantly picking up litter around my house from people walking by.

When I am out cycling the amount of fly tipping at the moment is just ridiculous, I had my cousins wife complain that this bloke who she paid a tenner to get rid of their fridge dumped it at the top of their road! What did she think was going to happen!

For someone who has always been brought up with strong values about community, this also gets me down a lot at the moment

Precisely why this thread is a lifesaver - life venting gets easier as you get older

100% agree about littering and I find myself shouting tramp (not very mature I know) at a least three people a day as they flick their fags out the window or just throw their crap on the floor and then Social Media is full of the ‘Cov’s a shithole’ brigade.

Well it’s our city and we have the responsibility to maintain and improve it.

I am ashamed to say when I was younger I would drop stuff on the floor etc but a trip to the USA at eighteen made me stop as it all seemed so clean there

Be thankful you don't have an upstairs neighbour like mine!

Amazon telling me "the locker at Morrison's is currently full" every time I try to order a certain couple of items no matter what time the day/week I try to order them.

It's quite clear to me they're not getting a big enough rake-off from the sale so have no intention of ever accepting the order.

people that feel that they have to talk constantly in order to 'remain in charge' of a conversation.

I have a colleague at work who regularly says "yeah, no, I mean, as I say" in between all sentences when he is talking to a customer on the phone, as if he is somehow afraid that a slight pause or 1/2 second delay in his speech will allow the other person to 'take control' of the conversation. So it's just 2 or 3 minutes of him talking constantly to the customer. He also says..' if if if if if you do this/that/the other'. He hasn't got a stutter, he just like to be the one making the noise whilst thinking.

At the end of this, because the customer hasn't been able to get a word in edgeways (and therefore hasn't understood the 3 minute answer), he has to then repeat the same 'speech' for 2-3 more minutes.

He also talks at 150% of 'normal' human volume, so we all have to listen.

What a cúnt.

(phew - feel better now)

I'm still fucked off they butchered the end of Game of Thrones.

And that George is so involved with all the other off shoot projects, will he ever finish the next 2 books?

Everyday Americanisms are really starting to fuck me off now. Even little things like people dropping "and" from sentences e.g "come get dinner" "lets go get a takeaway" are making me twitch.

Yesterday I was listening to the radio and an advert for something English, spoken by an Englishman contained the words "Coming July ten"

Give it 20 years and every c**t will have an American accent at this rate.

he'll probably tell you you've got a 48 hour bug

A couple of years ago I had to wait a month as well, I phoned up after 2 weeks to cancel it.

Last time I went it was just full of old people who knew the receptionists and went for a chat. It's near enough impossible if you have to go to work as well.

Adverts on the TV "Go and see your GP". If only it was that easy mate.

And 'your' from the first example.

Same as menus "All our steaks are hung for 28 days..." no, it's "All OF our steaks..."
