My understanding is the little twat was at a pool party yesterday in Ibiza so looks like he didn’t pack his bag and get the first available flight back home to explain himself to the club in person.

Just shows the arrogance of the horrid little low life reptile. I imagine his laughing about it now.

... I imagine his laughing about it now.

I seriously doubt it. He is bound to know how it’s going on social media and if he’s got any sense at all will at the bare minimum have had a phone conversation with the club (and hopefully MR).

I would imagine he’s shitting himself and praying he hasn’t screwed up his entire career.

And all for the ‘bantz’...

I've heard a bit of background info on this now
The lad thought he was being filmed for a Whatsapp group which would only be seen by other players but it was put on Snap chat
He was joking with the things he said about money as the other players know he's only on a modest contract
Still crazy as even with Whatsapp it only takes one person to upload it somewhere
The other players are certain the lad doesn't take drugs though
It's a disaster all round really
It is indeed.

These days everything is out there for all to see unfortunately

lol who told you this? cos thats bullshit. he was on Ethans snapchat trying to get birds at ocean beach. if it was just for the players why did he say for all you cov fans here I’m leaving? you talk some shite

plus he filmed it himself. he wasn’t filmed. you either made that up or you’ve been fed bullshit

I'll bet he thinks all the England women football team want to shag him.

To be fair Ricketts given how some of those women in the team look - Cov's biggest gangsta might be in with a chance with that lot once he starts flashing the cash around from those deep pockets.

If he is still on holiday people in Ibiza will know what's happened so I hope lots of people are looking at him like the twat he is, social media is a powerful thing

So someone filmed him and it was for a players’ chat?

I call bluff on both. Defo filmed himself, and he addressed the fans. I suppose it’s normal to try and backtrack when you’ve done something stupid though.

I’ve heard it was all a satirical take on the current politics surrounding social media and how the youth are portraying themselves on there. Robins is in on it and, he, Hickman and Fisher will be hosting a TED talk on the subject at the Herbert Art Gallery next Saturday.

Indeed. I bet Michael Gove has carried his dark secret for the last 20 years and has been riddled with guilt for all that time.

He was pissed and showed his bad manners and disrespect for the hand that feeds him.

All the cards are in the employers hands now. If he has talent and any commercial value he should be retained but admonished in public for being a total idiot.
If he is not worth keeping we can sack him for gross misconduct on one of many counts.

Don’t agree. He should either be asked to leave or not, it’s not about ability.

My point is about his market value which is aligned to his ability. Eric Cantona man Utd vs palace assaults player in crowd after being sent off. Utd stood behind him not because morally they condoned it, but because he was a valuable asset. Same principal here for me. Also were not in a financial position to start taking the moral high ground unless that cost is negligible.

Out if curiosity would you be saying the same thing if it was somone who the club could sell for 10m? Please don't debate the price I am quoting as I am well aware there are no players on our books worth 10m. But your argument is a principled one and I would be curious to see how far those principals extend.

I actually feel sorry for him now it's gone national. He's still a 20-year-old and now he's got thousands of people calling him all manner of names under the sun and wanting him fired. CCFC should deal with it ASAP.

Agreed. Thing is context is everything with something like this, and people seeing it out of context will assume the worst.

If you watch it and think to yourself he’s on the wind up, imagine it was one of your mates just being an arse. I’d hate for some of the things that my mates and I have said jokingly to be taken literally. Which seems to be what’s happening here. I still think he didn’t literally mean ‘fuck Cov’, for example. He was on the wind up IMO.

But it may well be too late for him. I just hope, if he’s given the chance, he learns from it and so do his team mates.

Yeh have to say my first emotion was to hate the bloke but take a step back and you realise we have all done silly stuff (i know I have) hope he learns a lesson and uses his obvious talent.... not with us tho.

I feel that now the incident has been advertised so heavily online and on social media, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for club to retain him. CCFC shouldn’t be influenced by external forces and should come to its own decisions but now this has been reported nationally I feel the club have very little choice but to terminate his contract. We need to show some self pride, now more than ever.

There's three options really: A) Let him go - B) Apology and give second chance - C) Send on loan for the season and tell him to grow up.

And that decision should be made by tomorrow to stop it dragging out.

Some of the comments on this thread make me laugh, this sort of thing from professional sports people, no matter how young they are, is incredibly rare, this is why it has made the national news. These people are constantly coached / warned to avoid things like this by their management team, mentors at their club, and hopefully by their family. I can't believe, no matter how young and naive he may be, that someone hasn't warned him against this sort of thing. I can only assume he has ignored any advice he might have been given.

lol if Baylis had done it it would have been swept under the carpet

Disagree !!
Would have been even higher profile
Instead of headline about "defender who was on loan at Hereford last season" it would have been "2 million pound starlet bring scouted and targeted by championship clubs".

They will (are) going through proper procedural employment law. Will take about 10 days with a full consultation period.

He’s a young kid who was on holiday and said / did stuff that he regrets. Not sure he broke the law did he ?.

Sorry but why are people excusing him. He made a mistake that means he should lose his job. I hope it doesn't kill his whole career but he needs to learn a lesson which is loosing his job at Cov.
