Disgruntled Sky Blue

“I know this is a difficult situation for supporters, but I want to see a good following. I want people to come and to support the team. I want people to show what Coventry City is about in adversity.

“This situation has been forced on us, but let’s come through this.

“With the backing of Coventry City fans, we can do it. It can be done and will be done. We are a strong football club with a great heritage and we need to show it.”

With all the adversity seeking to intentionally or accidentally destroy our club coupled with a fractured fanbase, these words are a tonic of hope. It might not be of the Churchill ilk but the rallying sentiments are something every Sky Blue supporter can surely get behind. We can do nothing about the rancid parties fighting over the Ricoh Arena but we can support MR, his staff and his players and help develop that defiant siege mentality making CCFC feel at home regardless of geography. Forty minutes will be added to my five hour round trip but I will be renewing my ST to see how far the Robin's Revolution can take us.

Right now I'm not only glad the club will continue to exist but also glad it's been given an upward ambition - just can't wait to see it unfold!

If we are rightly going to call out people for calling other fans ‘Sisu apologists’, then we should be calling others out for saying people who don’t go to St Andrews aren’t ‘real fans’. That’s a disgraceful view to have, and is just divisive and unnecessary. Everyone’s choice, whether to go or not, should be equally respected.

In Robins we trust. I just hope Joy Seppala doesn’t let him down.

Just morally wrong that Coventry City Football Club will not be playing in Coventry and I’m afraid I can’t “support” that hence away only.
They are all away next season now

Wasn't it also morally wrong to "give SISU money" by going to games at the Ricoh?

Baffled that people who go on about their morals have usually got previous for U turns anyway.

no reason at all why the trust or anyone else who sets up a protest shouldn't run with Robins quote

Yep-just do what you are comfortable with yourself and remember that it is not wrong if people want to go/don’t want to go, or can change their minds.

I was just pointing out that when people make a bit point about morals, they have usually gone back on their morals previously. It's pointless.

A good rallying call from the manager. What else could he do? He has to show players and fans we are very much still in business.
The reality will be somewhat different when as we wake up this time next year and realise we once again face no ground to play in and there is no money to sustain us another season out of Coventry.
WASP are in a dreadful mess financially themselves so these bitter wranglings are no good for either side.
I can't honestly see SISU laying the first stone of any new stadium.

In the short term WASP would be far more open to other owners of CCFC and SISU would dump CCFC for an offer of a mere 25m or so.
So where is Hofman and his cohorts when the time is ripe?

I assume not willing to write a cheque for £25m for something worth 10 times less than that ?

Pointless that they might change their viewpoint and go back again?

Pointless people going on about their morals when they just go back on things anyway. If it keeps happening, they might want to check their morals.

You are a lot closer to this than most, how many fake accounts do you think have been set up by wasps / council on this site alone ?

No Idea off the top of my head, they usually sit idle for a bit then appear. See John Stretton as an example....

Yes more than 1. They get blocked automatically a lot of the time on here. Then if they aren't they randomly pop up.

Probably about 10-15 of them on Twitter that are relentless.

Fantastic statement from MR. I really appreciate his absolute honesty and no holds barred approach re our situation. Surely that has to motivate people to support the team. And maybe it is a PR piece? So what, I’d be worried if we weren’t trying to make the situation as positive as possible.

I’m glad I’m not on Twitter as seeing idiotic statements would be infuriating.

As good as his stuff about the situation is, I think we’ve also overlooked another exciting bit of the statement; it sounds like more signings are incoming. Despite the ground situation I strongly believe we’re in for a brilliant season on the pitch.
