Sixfields was the club's calling the shots and moving us to Northampton whereas this time we are being made move. There is more to this than meets the eye it's obvious a vendetta against sisu by the council and wasps to force their hands to see up and unfortunately us supporters are just pawns in the game being played

Went to Sixfields twice. That was a move SISU took so completely understandable why fans boycotted.

Will go to St Andrews as often as I can but completely understand fans who do not want to go. This time, it has been forced upon us by Wasps and CCC.

Didn’t go last time and won’t be going to Brum. Away games only for us.
Best case scenario-Who’s to say that we won’t return mid season when everyone gives their heads a shake?

Will go as much as I do at the moment. Maybe it’s different as I live away from cov now.
I still don’t get the away games only stance. If you can be arsed to travel to away games why not to Birmingham? Fans happily giving to every other club but cov?! I can understand if it’s additional costs obviously...but if that isn’t the issue and you ‘enjoy’ watching cov, why deny yourself?!

Adge,
Geniune question... why away games only?
If willing to go away, you are obviously willing to support the team. However, you are only giving money to other clubs. If you are going away, you obviously want the team to do well.
If you/people don't go to home games, there will be no budget for players, staff etc so you do realise that you will be then watching youth team players and second rate pros. Will that be enjoyable? Very much doubt it.
Don't get the "I'm not lining SISUs pockets" line that many come out with... the club has been running a "self sufficent, income=expenditure model" for a few years now... No money "lines SISUs pockets" It goes to staff, players, rent etc ..
I do think a few (!?) struggle to see that....

I live 275 miles away but will try and go at least the same amount as I usually do. This time Wasps and the council have screwed us over. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wasps don’t try and set up their own football team “Coventry Wasps FC” to try and damage us even more

Went to sixfields once the game where johnson clarke harris scored and i intend to go st andrews, i am hoping (selfishly) that we will end up playing sundays as i play rugby saturdays (i dont support wasps) so will be easier to get both in at the weekends

Didnt go sixfields... felt that was the clubs choice to move and I disagreed...
100% going this time as we have been forced out by the council hiding behind a more than complicit Wasps.....

Agree with you but the simple fact is if sisu had completely stopped all legal action then we wouldn’t be in this mess, wasps and the council are just as much to blame, but there’s only one party that can put a stop to all this and that’s sisu, we need them gone

I'd be more worried about Wasps, with no EFL team as tenants, decided to install a 4G pitch like quite a few other Premier Rugby teams have. Then, unless the EFL change the rules, we can no longer play at the Ricoh unless a grass pitch is reinstated.

4g pitch would suit there game more than grass too

Obviously haven't kept up with what is going on..... never mind.
There is currently NO legal action going on. SISU signed an agreement to cease all action against Wasps....
There is a complaint to the EU commission against the council. This is NOT legal action. This complaint is NOT against Wasps.... Yet WASPS want an indemnity (money up front) to protect them if shit eventually hits the fan with the COUNCIL... .This is what SISU would not agree to... who is in charge of who here...
Absolutely stinks...

Sisu can’t put a stop to the EU investigation of the council’s (not wasps) actions.

Looks like you didn’t read my post properly, I said if they’d have dropped all legal action, if they’d have done that it wouldn’t gone as far as the EU commission, sisu are responsible for this mess, they could have stopped this years ago

The pitch needs ripping up and starting again. That's before the damage the concerts and monster trucks have done. Wouldn't be surprised to see one go down. Not irreversible though.

Funny, was talking to a ccfc fan pal last night and he said the same. Said this was their ticket to get a 4g pitch installed

Their not cheap wonder if they could afford it?
According to the BBC it is 300,000 to 500,000 quid

Didn’t go to Sixfields. Won’t go to Blues. I’m not holding my breath that we’ll see CCFC back at the Ricoh or in Cov for a few years due to the incompetence of all parties involved in this shitshow.

How many normal pitches is that ?. Would it save on groundsmen as well ?
One I believe as for groundsmen not sure how many we have but dont believe they are on top money and you would still have to employ someone to look after it.

Didn’t we stick a new pitch down at Sixfields at considerable cost to us? North of £200k I reckon.
Yes we did.
I believe st Andrew's ain't the best ether (told this by a blues fan) we shall have to wait and see how it lasts.

Didn’t go to Sixfields, only season in the past 21 where I haven’t had a season ticket. Life without City on a Saturday was horrendous. As reluctant as I am to watch us play outside of the Coventry, I’m 90% certain that I’ll be renewing. The demand for away games will be ridiculous, I’m sure we shall sell out the majority - if not all - of our allocation every other week, particularly if we start well.

Naively, I never thought that we would be moving outside of the City and yesterday was a complete and utter shock when it hit home. In hindsight, with the people and parties around the table, it should’ve come as no surprise at all. Boddy’s past record speaks for itself and as nice as he comes across, in reality he’s a bumbling idiot. Certainly not someone I would trust to head up negotiations on such a critical matter. Saying that, who was the alternative? Fisher? The SISU lawyers who batter people in court?

Even now, I continue to wonder whether or not there is a tiny glimmer of hope that this can be resolved prior to the beginning of the season. Wishful thinking perhaps.

My personal opinion on the entire debacle remains the same but it isn’t even worth bringing up, because I just cannot be arsed anymore. I’m bored, angry, bitter and to be honest, emotionally exhausted by it all. The sheer divide within the fan base is worse now than it has even been and is now irreparable. The Facebook forum - littered with modern day cavemen - I have come to expect the sort of tirades, self-opinionated drivel that has been spouted daily for many a year, but even on here now, fans are unable to express their views without being lynched by 3 or 4 individuals, who share an alternative viewpoint.

I pray for a day where we can just live as normal football fans, discussing solely what happens on the pitch. It really should be all that matters. Sadly, I fear that is a long, long way off.

I agree with all of this. I didn’t go inside Sixfields but I will go to St Andrews as I think the circumstances are different. I will go, however with a very heavy heart. I too thought that sense would prevail and that we would be at the Ricoh. Since this was announced, I have been living under a cloud. Maybe your football team shouldn’t have this much effect on your life but it has really left me feeling down. Watching my team in another club’s 80% empty stadium is an awful thought. If funds for Mark Robins are guaranteed by Sisu I could still see it being a successful season. Will they do this?
The worst case scenario is that they fund us according to the gates we get which will start the inevitable downward spiral. They don’t care about our club and keeping it going would be less costly for them the lower we sink. It seems that the European legal system works even slower than our own so this could drag on and on. Exiting the EU with no deal, something I would normally be totally against, maybe the only way for a quick return to the Ricoh.’

Yes but would save money in the long run, save on maintenance and relaying a new pitch every season.

Ok, genuine answer. Its morally wrong to take Coventry City Football Club out of Coventry and that is why I will not be going to St Andrew’s.
It’s a bit of a double edged sword and you are right about “the budget” which will decrease and watching Cory Addai in goal could be a reality in 18 months time.
The mess we find ourselves in now is down to three parties but let’s not forget that it is the owners that are moving us out of the City for the second time albeit circumstances are different this time.
If it was short term pain (ground share) for long term gain (our own revenue streams) and there was plans submitted and passed for a new ground I would be buying a season ticket.
Remember not some 5-6 weeks ago that “plan A” Again was to be a new ground.
Lets not pretend that a new ground is going to happen-hedge funds do not build football grounds.
Hence the away games as it stands as this way I will still get my football fix and be “supporting the team”

Ok, I get the “morally wrong” thing, but what choice do we have but to leave the city? What other football ground can they play at?

Would you rather the club indemnify Wasps in case the EC commission finds any wrongdoings?

No but hedge funds do try and get football grounds on the cheap, ie SISU and Wasps.

Ok, fair reply... however, as opposed to "owners taking us out of the city" do you not think we are being forced out this time? (I did no go to SF... clubs choice to move... I disagreed... I will go StAs as I feel we have been forced out this time...)
Wasps moving goalposts with council nudges and finally imposing an unrealistic condition on a deal, that if agreed to would ruin the football club....
In my opinion, owners not taking us out... being forced out....???

Yep, that’s why I said “3 parties are responsible” and it’s quite right that it is different to the Sixfields scenario.
