To be fair I’m not a trump fan (a dangerous bafoon a fair bit of the time), however, he does appear to have a bit more affinity for our country than many others past and present world leaders (including some of our own politicians)

I haven’t been through all the pages on here but guessing comments have already been made about Corbyn not attending the state banquet (which was pretty pathetic...and then requested a separate private meeting -WTF ?!!). Also some of the protestors embarrassing themselves (why would a Trump supporter be a Nazi ?!) and disrespecting what is ultimately the start of the D Day commemorations.

The fact is, in life, you have to deal with people you might not particularly like. If all of these idiots were out on the street when past dubious (at best) or genuinely evil (at worst) world leaders/dictators made visits to the UK then I might have at least some understanding/respect for them, however, I doubt that very much.

Whether we like it or not Trump was democratically voted in by Americans and is therefore representing them and their country. He was here to commemorate hundreds of thousands US (and allies) servicemen and women who ultimately died for our benefit. In my view we should be able to show some restraint in return.

How disrespectful of all these protesters in Portsmouth today when its the 75th anniversary of D-Day, do these sad pricks not have jobs or?

Trump is a twat but to protest on a day like today, how disgusting

So on a day when we celebrate the day of the victory over the far right it’s poor taste to protest against someone who promotes and excuses the far right? Allowing Trump to attend our celebrations is far more crass.

Trump is democratically elected

I bet some of those old guys are the same old bastards that voted for brexit. Hopefully a few more will be dead before the people’s vote

His comments about the Irish border are priceless. And some want someone like that in charge of the UK? Fucking hell, talk about dumbing down.

The waffle was amazing. Turning up in Ireland and going on about the UK’s problems. He’ll be doing a Prince Phillip next and become a potato famine denier.

What the literally fuck are you going on about?

The veterans are old Tony - Nicholas clegg thinks those young protesters should have two votes to their one. Martcov sneered at some old people at a funeral

It’s not difficult

Without illegally harvested data used to game the electoral college he almost certainly wouldn’t have won.

He would old chum as he’s a saint compared to the disgusting Clinton

People like you are hilarious - you sit in an ivory tower and are clueless about why trump really won and will probably win again

I’m no fan of Clinton but that is ridiculous.

How am I in an Ivory a tower? He didn’t win the popular vote. They used illegally harvested data to micro target voters in key states, without that it would have taken a mathematical fluke for him to win.

He may well win again though.

Didn’t win the popular vote is a pointless cliche as oddly that’s not what is required to win the election

The reason trump won is that people in vital swing states just didn’t vote as they were democrats who did not turn out as they were repulsed by the Clinton dynasty

Take your tin foil hat off

That played a part but you know they put a lot of work into targeting the right people to make sure it happened.

It wasn’t a celebration, it was a commemoration.
We were commemorating the bravery and sacrifice of men and women of the British and Allied forces; remembering and paying respect to them.
An important opportunity for us all to show our gratitude but clearly lost on you and your hate filled scumbag rentamob chums with their pathetic self defeating protests.

Commemorate and celebrate are acronyms of each other and share a literal definition. So you’re talking bollocks to try and look clever.

I didn’t take part in any protests. So again you’re talking bollocks to try and look clever.

Do yourself a favour. Buy a thesaurus, a dictionary, a history book on the rise and defeat of the Nazi’s and get someone to read them to read them to you.

In fairness actions speak louder than words. Bits of the NHS have been at least virtually privatised via the backdoor. Physiotherapy is available if you are happy to wait months...but many people think £50-100 is ok to get help so go privately. Cleaning services etc was all put out to tender. If Pharmacy was tendered out in the near future it wouldn't wouldn't be a shock to me

Pharmacy was done ages ago, that isn't privatisation it is contracting out services, slightly different. The Tory dream is to actually privatise the NHS and fund it via private insurance.

Doubt that generation did it’s their kids that are sleep walking into similar nationalistic tendencies

Yep. It’s the baby boomers who enjoyed free further education, affordable housing, the comfort of a triple lock pension etc. The irony of watching them at Brexit ltd marches telling the camera how we will be okay with a no deal brexit. “We”? They’ll all be sitting comfortably in their mortgage free affordable house and triple lock pension. It’s me and my children who’ll pay the price for their as you say nationalistic tendencies. I don’t think that under 30’s having 2 votes is any sort of democracy but lowering the voting age to 16 on referendum such as this wouldn’t be a bad idea given it is their future that’s at stake here, not your average Ferage fanatics.

You are really thick. Veterans are not necessarily old. They have been in a war zone, but it doesn’t have to have been a long while ago.

There is a letter signed by a load of veterans demanding not to have the country dragged out of the EU without a final say vote because the EU was set up to make sure we don’t have wars in Europe in the future.

You keep telling people I did things at my mother‘s funeral such as polling people or sneering at my old relations. What a dick you are. Just for your info, my mother died at 88, but voted remain in the referendum.

You can be old and want to remain.

How the hell do you and the troll know what the fuck I did at my mother’s funeral? You weren’t invited, and if I were to sneer at anyone, it would be you.

There is an interview doing the rounds with one old soldier where he says he hopes the EU doesn’t get split after all the work that went into getting the major powers to work together.

You constantly show your bitterness and confusion on several subjects. You would be better off sticking to slagging off Burge wherever he plays, or calling the Ricoh a white elephant or an edifice.
