It's what happens when people like Magwitch try and pretend they have a clue about things.
He's been consistent at least. Remember several posts about needing more muscle in midfield last summer too. He reminds me of Dongo in a lot of ways.

Yeah it is up there with the obsession with Duck not passing to McNulty because McNulty hadn't scored as many as him so he had no confidence in McNulty.

Don’t remember linking the Duck with McNulty, Personally I never rated the Duck as a team player and McNulty thrived once he left and for the record I think midfield has and still is our Achilles heel and has been for ages, too weak in a tough league.

Except we controlled a hell of a lot of games in midfield this season. The teams that cut out midfield... what can you do! You have to be stronger at the back with those sort of teams. And it’s not as if none of our mids tracked back and helped out.

Yes we did eventually and as a result improved and imo at times looked the best team in the division. The form of Kelly and putting the much criticised Shipley more central gave us that bit of backbone imo we lacked at times and lt wasn’t so much a game of two halves if you pardon the pun.
