The Ricoh.. (1 Viewer)

I have it on very good authority that the only realistic option left is a very expensive ground share at St. Andrews and that this is where we will be playing next year unless a miracle happens with the Ricoh.

I was told back in April that initial talks broke down due to the cost of the rental agreement. The commercial agreement wasn't exactly favourable either. The cost both figuratively and literally will be hugely damaging for the club.

I seen something the other day saying that wanted a couple of million to play there

That maybe the case but I’m led to believe that this is currently the only groundshare option on the table. Like I say I was told that it was a very expensive deal.

Well it would be an expensive deal if it's the only groundshare available. It's a typical demand and supply scenario - if a consumer looks to purchase (or in our case rent) something that is rare, they have to pay a higher price.

So... the half a dozen clubs happy to share with us was all bull?

I assume if it is a fortune then it'd be a deal for just one season, so we get to play musical stadiums again this time next year?

I reckon somebody had you on on your first day, type with your fingers mate. It's no wonder it took you about 4 years to

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you reckon someone had me on my first day
why is it people on here feel that they need to abuse correspondents because they make a typographical error
Is it any wonder people don't contribute more to the discussion.

Don’t know to be honest, however what I was led to believe was that St.Andrews was the only option deemed viable whether that is due to size and facilities I don’t know.
Also don’t know length of the deal but other than the owners moving us out of the city I don’t really see their endgame. The council won’t allow them to build within the city boundaries and they won’t be returning to the Ricoh within 7 years so to me the club either is moved or dies.

Remember to stop in at that restaurant you don't ever go to on your way home just to tell them you won't be going there.

...or dies very slowly, by the sounds of it!

Why within seven years? Opinion?

Could be quicker than we might think if the club is continuously bleeding money. While the original rental fee was ridiculous for the Ricoh we were atleast still in Coventry so the crowds were something that could help make it more sustainable, moving us to Brum with a similar rental agreement and limited crowds turning up will quickly see us off.
7 years as that was the figure being banded about for a conclusion to EU court action I thought.

SISU won't retain a depreciative portfolio that's dropping down the leagues like a stone for 7 years as they'll be at risk of losing more money themselves. Even administration and liquidation comes at a price. If it isn't in the best interests of themselves, the club won't move to Birmingham, not for the long term anyway.

Christ, why do people get this worked up over what one person said on a forum of hundreds, if not thousands. If you don't like it just ignore it, don't flounce about it.

"But he said something mean to me..."

So what, grow up.

Don’t we also need a plan to return to coventry????!
I think the EFL will accept a move as long as the club can prove they are attempting to move back. That could be attempting to buy land, being in negotiations etc.

Realistically what more can they do, the only viable stadium's owners are refusing to talk to us. If they kick us out of the league it gives stadium owners up and down the country to ask what they want from clubs.

Linnell said he’d spoken to Northampton and they were happy to groundshare again. Like him or not he works for BBC Northants so it’s highly likely his info is correct.
Don't like him. I was between 'proper jobs' around 1994 and took up a temp position as summer cover for Royal Mail - I delivered his mail (and a host of former City players)
He was pleasant enough but then one day I saw him out running wearing a pair of villa shorts.

If the figures being banded round are true wouldn't it be better for both parties to come to an agreement over anything wasps are potentially ordered to pay as a result of the complaint with the EC?
