I'm going to the NEC in June to see Lynnrrd Skynnrd and Status Quo. Obviously new line ups, but should still be good. But watching Quo on bbc4 tonight doing a boring acoustic concert from a few years ago, tedious tosh !

Enjoy Quo in June BBR. I saw them live at Knebworth, years ago. Really good. I would love to see Lynyrd Skynyrd live, but alas, it ain't gonna happen. :(

Not sure if I've put these up before BBR, but this was the day before the concert. I was at Knebworth as a contractor, so was able to watch all the sound testing prior to the actual concert. First one is Rick Parfitt being interviewed for Radio 1. The guy with his back to camera (foreground) is Dave Dee of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich fame. He organised the whole concert. Absolute top bloke to chat to. The 2nd is Parfitt sound testing on stage.

Thanks for those pics Houch. I saw Quo at the NEC 20 years ago on a New Years Eve concert. The whole place was rocking and they are great live. As for Skynrrd I've never seen them, but love their music. My mate got 2 tickets £150.00 each but his pal can't make it, so he asked me to come instead. I told him that the price was a bit much etc but it's at the front best view in the house ! He said just get the beer in and dont worry about the ticket. So thats 2 pints of lager then !

Coventry band, The Sorrows, lead singer Don Fardon:

Don Fardon very nearly became my brother-in-law. My sister was engaged to him for a while but then it all fizzled out. He used to run the Alhambra pub as well. Also used to bump into him when he presented stuff for CWR many years later when I worked there. I asked him if he remembered my sister and he did!

My sister went on a few dates with a member of Cov band Jigsaw. They played a lot at the Walsgrave pub on Ansty Road.

I remember Jigsaw BBR. Never made a huge impact in the UK, "Sky High" their only venture into the UK charts, but they were popular abroad, in particular, Japan. They actually recorded 28 singles and 11 albums!

I saw them perform at the Baginton Oak many years ago.

2 cds from charity shop on Saturday 90 pence each. Nine Lives by Aerosmith and Around The Sun by REM. Both some years old but some great tracks on both albums. Aerosmith in their early days were a hard rock band before they went a bit of a pop group.
