Seems far-fetched to suggest early talks to bring Wasps to Coventry have no relation at all to Wasps eventually moving to Coventry.

No, I knew full well where it was and who said it.

Just find it great how somebody banging on about knowing the facts doesn't really seem to know them. There's a shock.

so your saying sisu moving us to Northampton didn’t leave the gate open for wasps to come in?

Okay, so let me ask you a question.

If ACL had bought the Wasps in 2012 do you think ACL would have continued to run Wasps day-to-day business from Adams Park in Wycombe or from the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, the hint in this is the name Arena Coventry Limited.

You're playing on words and a WUM.

If the deal had proceeded in 2012, ACL would have brought Wasps to the Ricoh after purchasing the Club, or else what reason would an arena managing company have to buy a struggling Rugby club?

So regardless of your play on words, in 2012 the possibility was explored to bring Wasps to the Ricoh, during a period of which CCFC/SISU had agreed HOT with the Council and before the move to Sixfields.

and? Acl owned the Ricoh so that would have been there choice. look at the bigger picture. Sisu in 2007 had the chance to buy 50% of the Ricoh. They chose not to, instead they played the long game of trying to get it for nothing. that back fired. Sisu then decided to move us away from the Ricoh and said publicly we would not return and building our own ground. that gave wasps the chance then to come in. Sisu fucked this up yet people forget this. the pro sisu stance is pathetic

Lol - if acl wanted to buy wasps that’s there choice isn’t it? I imagine it was on the cheap. but like when sisu came in for us on the cheap. end of the day, sisu fucked us over with there bully boy tactics. there the ones who took us away from the Ricoh for this to happen. If we were still there back in 2013-14 wouldn’t be where we are now
Are you saying that if we hadn't gone to Northampton wasps wouldn't be here now, we were at the stadium, paying rent when acl were trying to buy wasps and move them here, if they wanted a rugby club at the ricoh why didn't they try and buy CRFC and fund them to the premiership.

Ffs sisu moving us away from the Ricoh to Northampton opened it up for wasps to move in. sisu fucked us up doing that.

lol the key words in that article which is more opinion then fact are as follows-

‘‘perhaps with one eye on the Ricoh’’ that’s just opinion. the fact is when sisu moved us from the Ricoh and said in public we would not return and build our ground. Wasps seen an opportunity and took it.

So the Fact that somebody who didn't own Wasps was discussing a Wasps move to Coventry in 2012 who now owns them and has moved them to Coventry in 2014 isn't linked in any way at all? OK then.

who knows but it would have been a lot more amicably I imagine. Sisu moving us away to Northampton and saying cov will never play at the Ricoh again opened it up for wasps. That’s a fact.

Nobody is "pro-sisu" what people do see is that there is more than one party to blame.

SISU should've bought 50% of the Arena in 2007, something I will agree with, but attempting to justify yourself with a play of words is pathetic, regardless of what should've happened in 2007 when SISU did attempt to buy a stake in the Arena they were shafted, in favour of the Wasps.

they were shafted because they tried to shaft acl and the council. Sisu can’t have it there own way. ideal world, they bought the stake when it was offered. God only knows the amount they paid in rent and court cases they could have paid that and saved money.

No. Gidney hated the football club. He’d built up this image to the council that ACL would be a rival to the NEC but needed a high profile brand to be the flagship.

It’s not an opinion piece if a former chairman of coventry rugby club stated he attended a meeting with derek Richardson.

Of course Richardson cannot recall such a meeting - but he and Eastwood seem to not recall a lot what they say as they end up saying something else later.

But like when they said the purchase was made as part of a regeneration programme in the city and a job creating multi million pound training facility. Later Derek said he’s not into regeneration and well the training ground seems to have vanished into thin air.

I know their part in it and they should have avoided all of this bollocks to begin with, but the company running the stadium planning to take over the team that eventually bought the stadium can't be two things completely independent of each other either.

They tried to shaft ACL and the Council, by which you mean agreeing to HOT with both of the aforementioned parties before a London Rugby franchise was moved up to Coventry, because it was deemed more favourable?

That terrible SISU :banghead:

Of course not Nick, the two things are completely unrelated.

Along with somebody who didn't own Wasps having discussions with people about moving to the Ricoh.

It's almost as if he knew if he bought Wasps he would get a decent deal on the Ricoh as well.

I am shocked that people keep believing in these coincidences that popup.

I’m actually beginning to question whether CCFC did ever have access to purchase that 50% share, considering CCC held a veto over it.

As i said in some thread previously, why is no-one thinking of blaming Higgs Trust in this? They owned the second half of ACL didn't they? And refused the offer from SISU, later selling it to Wasps for less?? Charities Commission complaint, anyone?

Did you miss the bit where the Council / ACL said they had no intention of doing the deal but wanted to make the talks last longer while they thought of a story to give the bank about the debt?

Not more of those facts.

where was that story then?

How amazing that you seem to have links and details to hand on the whole saga until it comes to any of the bad done by ACL and the Council and then you need your memory jogging or links sharing.

2016 is calling, it wants its PR back.

tell you what’s amazing how everyone believes word for word sisu now. that’s the point like there blameless throughout the whole saga.

You do realise just reverting to say they are blameless doesn't work? It is like it's an extreme example to try and take it to the other end of the scale.

Nobody thinks they are blameless bar about 1 or 2 mentalists.

However you seem to be doing your best to tell everybody that there's no link between the talks with Wasps in 2012 and then taking over in 2014 and it's all a big coincidence.

Said no-one. Ever. Your agenda worked 5 years ago but there's too much counter-evidence available now to the genuinely neutral CCFC fans. The collusion between council and a franchised London Rugby club to work against the owners of our football club is clear for all to see, if people open their eyes. It doesn't mean SISU are blameless but the club and fans are and any genuine CCFC fan shouldn't give two shiny shites what happens to Wasps if it is the best for our football club.
