Have they mentioned the talks with wasps yet before sixfields? That statement is a lesson in how to side with wasps whilst trying not to.

Trusts statement.

The Sky blue trust were appalled by yesterday’s news that, because of a complaint to the European Commission by Sisu, filed as long ago as February, talks over a new agreement for the Sky Blues to play home games at the Ricoh have broken down.

"Wasps have been clear that they would only enter such discussions if no legal action relating to the Ricoh was taking place.

"The discussions started when, in mid-April, the Supreme Court rejected sisu's latest Judicial Review case.

"Sisu should not be surprised that Wasps reacted strongly to news of the complaint to the EC when it came to light.

"A complaint about an alleged breach of EU law, which may lead to an order by the european court of justice requiring repayment of any unlawful state aid is clearly a form of legal action.

"Throughout this dreadful period for Sky Blue fans, the Trust have urged all parties to work together to seek agreement to the continued use by the club of the Ricoh Arena.

"We had hoped that both sides would enter into discussions in an atmosphere of honesty and transparency.

"We urge them to resume talks on that basis.

"With 13 days left before the English Football League’s EGM, we implore Sisu and Wasps to do everything in their power to resolve their differences.

"If they fail to do so, the EFL will be considering just two unpalatable options - to agree to Coventry City home games being played outside the City or to expel the Club from the EFL.

"We do not know how the EFL will now regard this matter.

"We do not know whether Sisu informed the EFL that they had complained to the European Commission back in February and, if they did not, how that will affect their decision.

"We hope and pray that this is not the last straw for Coventry City."
These cunts just get worse. "Its not surprising wasps want to kill ccfc"

Reading just these last few paragraphs it really does seem like some on the trust board really want the club to be kicked out the football leagues

If we played at The Butts next year, the Sunderland fans would trash Soon End and increase the property value. Win, win!

Jumping ahead a bit but If we are out of the city when City of Culture civic events happen, we need to turn up en masse in Sky blue (flares, klaxons, whatever - all legal of course!) and sabotage their self congratulatory back slapping in front of the press. Not give them a minute's peace !

Coventry City Football Club would like to update its supporters, following yesterday’s statement (15 May) made by Wasps.

There is no European Commission complaint against Wasps. The complaint, made by our Owners SISU in February, is against Coventry City Council only.

In mid-April, SISU signed an undertaking to irrevocably cease all proceedings against Wasps relating to the sale and lease of the Ricoh Arena, in order to allow talks about extending our agreement at the Ricoh Arena to take place.

Wasps stated their position publicly yesterday, reiterating their previous opposition to legal action and now adding their opposition to any other action around the sale of the stadium in 2014, and their opinions surrounding the EU complaint.

Nick Eastwood said yesterday: “Regrettably, this means that the condition set out above for us to enter or continue discussions with CCFC has not been met.” The condition referenced yesterday by Nick has not been broken, but instead yet more onerous and undeliverable conditions have been added by Wasps to their pre-existing conditions to enter talks.

Last Friday in our update to fans, we spoke of ‘hurdles’ and this is one of those hurdles that we alluded to. As a result, we are unfortunately accelerating our back-up groundshare plans.

Further details of discussions with Wasps Holdings Limited remain confidential, due to mutually signed confidentiality agreements.

My only sticking point is surely the complaint against the council will inevitably affect Wasps. So technically it’s not completely separate.

“So yeah we’ve moved the goalposts m8”

Is all Wasps need to say.

But legally it would be, if wasps lawyers didn't foresee this that is their fault

But it’s quite literally their ball and they can do what they want with it. Am I missing something?

Legally not connected. But is connected. Why would they stay around the table with us? Anyone?

You’re probably right.

Interesting to note though that they said this was one of the hurdles which strongly implies the news and then cancellation of talks was staged. That in turn suggests either wasps already knew or it came out during the talks.

Genie is out the bottle. The commission will investigate regardless now, we can’t withdraw the complaint.

Im struggling to see what wasps gain from us not being at the Ricoh. Lost rent, reduced sponsorship and sub let’s.

They have lost control of events now and other than spite what do they gain from this?

Probably missing something.
