Wasps pull out... (1 Viewer)

Have said that for months. If the club goes tits up then a new club can play there, it's no skin off their nose.

Strange nobody is asking more questions about things like that.

Unless it's CCFC (or a CCFC 2, minus SISU), fans wouldn't turn up and so they couldn't afford any sort of rent. Am I missing something?

what I don’t get is, why did Ccfc issue a statement saying talks on going when we all know that’s bollox. i don’t trust any of them. Wasps, sisu, council. only people suffering are us
People within the club were told a 2 year deal was done weeks ago, it's now been reported a deal was agreed. It's been reported there were hurdles but the club were still trying a few days ago.

This has been engineered to get out of it.

Depends who owns it? A columnist on the telegraph reported Hoffman was backed by a wealthy rugby club owner.

Surprised more wasn't made of it

See this is the quandary I'm in
On one hand I agree, on the other I don't want to support sisu taking us out of the city because they could end all this and concentrate on sorting the club out.

I didn't realise it was possible to hate both sides in a dispute so much. Jeopardizing our clubs future while they carry out their pissing contest. And as for that shower of utter cunts at the council and the lackey Gilbert, there are no words.
To be fair to sisu they cant withdraw the complaint to the ec.

To hazard a guess, I supoose technically they were until London wasps issued a statement saying they weren't.
More mind games and semantics and playing with supporters emotions.
Dirty bastards the lot of them.

who are these people? if a deal was done weeks ago it would have been announced surely so we could get on with season ticket sales.

Sky broke the news at 10am this morning. Cob issue a statement at lunchtime saying the opposite.

Staff, not decision makers. Multiple sources were reporting that.

It's almost as if somebody wanted to get out of doing deal but still look blameless. The same as every other time they try it.

As far as we’re aware they can’t end this. It was reported to the EU in February and they now just run with it. What can sisu actually do in this situation?

Interesting to see what this does re MR/Boddy/SISU relationship - love to know what conversations Joy and MR have had (remember that meeting at Coombe Abbey). Do you think today's happenings have taken SISU/CCFC by surprise? Find it really hard to believe that the EC bit is a complete 'out of the blue' to Wasps, as Eastwood has indicated.

Didn't Blues ground get mentioned again a couple of days ago?

But Hoffman is a CCFC fan - he would only be interested in a CCFC or a CCFC2 (Phoenix) club, surely?

People blamed in this thread:

- Council
- Wasps
- Gilbert
- Fisher
- Randos on Twitter
- The Trust

People not blamed on this thread:

- The person who instigated the rent strike, gambling the clubs future to get a cheap stadium

All about balance and blaming all sides equally though eh lads?

This has been coming for four years and the club has invited it at every turn and failed to plan for the inevitable. Am I allowed to be pissed at them?

If we're taking the trust stance then it isn't about what happened in the past it's about securing a place to play in Coventry next season.

What can sisu do to secure this right now?

Yes but not only them. I personally feel wasps should be in court for using threats to try and stop a European commission investigation into state funding

Did sisu know before February (when they made the complaint to the commission) that wasps condition for any deal would be to drop all legals?
At what point were wasps informed of the complaint to the commission? Yesterday or months ago?

Would be naive to think Gilbert knew before the council and wasps

Wasps do realise not doing a deal won't stop it don't they?

They must do - they will be financially worse off and the EC think happens anyway. What would Wasps do when the EC thing happens/doesn't happen (let's say there is no action) would they say 'it's all ended - welcome back?' It's all odd; as others have said, I can't see that SISU can withdraw the EC complaint.

Dint someone on a different tread say Wasps bonds accounts are due around now ?

Good way to put that news under the radar

The thing is there was a bit of sympathy for SISU this time, and a lot more would've gone to a different ground this time... But they've well and truly messed that up by pulling this stunt

It's going to cost London Wasps millions of pounds and a hell of a lot of goodwill. They're either losing a desperate game of brinkmanship or are incredibly stupid.

Big problems now feel sorry for the lad that's just signed and you can wave bye to the other signings. But Eastwood basically says there is still a chance so fingers crossed.

SISU have been / are tw*ts Shmeee (and many people have called them out many times, besides you) but don't pretend that the 2 protagonists at the top of that list haven't used us as a political football too; increasingly so as this has progressed. I know for a fact that the main people* involved at CCC level whilst model professionals) support CCFC, West Ham etc and couldn't give a f*ck about CCFC (* I used to work with them)
