Great heartwarming story.
What's needed is some type of program where season-ticket holders who know they won't be going to a game can inform the club who would then allocate those tickets to needy recipients.
The club would not lose or gain any money and they already count those ticksts in the attendance figures.

This was great and fantastic to see a young fan getting to see his local side rather than opt for Liverpool on the TV. The whole thing was an excellent idea and roll on next year

I thought there was something written in to the terms and conditions about season tickets have to be used by one person or did I make that up?

At the end of the 2017/18 season, I'd only managed to get my sons to a handful of home games, as and when finances allowed alongside the joys of working alternate weekends, much to my eldest sons disappointment, although he understood (My eldest is 6 years old now and my youngest is 3). Week in, week out he'd ask me if Cov were playing at home, and if they were, could we go. Numerous times I had to let him down and it was really disheartening to see the sadness hit him if I couldn't afford to or was working.

In the February of that season, myself and the children's mum broke up, meaning I moved out of the family home. Money was tight, rent and bills had to be paid and so my hours went up where available. During the summer, my sons excitement for the start of this season was leading me to dread it because I knew I wouldn't be able to get him or his brother to very many games if any.

That's when I saw MildManneredJanitor's post regarding helping fellow CCFC fans. On a whim, I posted about my situation and my sons passion for the club. A short time later, I was contacted by MMJ who offered me and both of my sons full season tickets. I was completely gobsmacked yet elated. I kept the whole thing a secret from my kids, and when the post came with the season tickets, I just threw Harry (my eldest) his letter saying it was for him and I didn't know what it was. Nothing can explain the feeling when his face lit up as he realised what it was, and then I explained to him that it was you guys who enabled us to have them.

Throughout this season we have attended all but one home game on these tickets, creating massively important memories that I know both my sons and I will treasure for life. So I wanted to say thank you, from me as a Dad, who has been able to enjoy the highs and lows of the season with his children in hugely important father/son time. But also on behalf of my children, who have had an absolutely brilliant 9 months of football, and a wealth of memories to go with it.

To mmj, and everyone who chipped in, thank you so much. No words can express how grateful we are that you provided us with those tickets.

Hope this can be run again next season and if so can the organiser(s) keep us informed as to how we can all help? This is one thing I'd love to chip in to, if only a tenner out of my pension. If it goes some way to helping someone else, then I'll be more than willing to chip in!

Apologies, post season blues and not online much but thank you for the kind words but you all were the kind ones donating and so was the club who gave away a free adult and JSB ticket. Thanks to those that helped choose as well so it was all fair.

Once we know where and how much, I would like to set up again, we have some money still spare from last year, we helped 6 families last year including Zoe’s place and the children’s centre, we also donated to the family zone.

Home form wasn’t the best but I’m glad it created the memories and bond for father/son, that was always the aim.
AST - glad you had some great times together, my son (now 26 and I still do after all these years, except Fleetwood away which was shocking)

I’ll be in touch people about emptying your wallets and purses when we know we are at the Ricoh again, hopefully.

Happy to contribute.

A very worthy idea where we support the future supporters of our club.

Pleased that the club also supportive.

I'll be happy to contribute as well, fantastic idea that fans are willing to help fellow fans.Thankfully we have a lot more fans like this, than what I've heard about Jimbo's coaches.

I know with wasps that they allow STH to let their season ticket be replaced with printed tickets if ppl can’t make games - a friend at work offered me tickets. Not convinced ccfc will be as friendly

To be fair most Wasps tickets are free so it doesn't make much difference! You can get a duplicate ticket on a match day if you forget your season ticket so its possible for them to print one out and cancel it off the card. Don't see why the club would be unhelpful, they seem much better on this side of things recently. Worth asking.

How many likes? Doesn't say on tapatalk.
121 at present.

Don't recall ever seeing on more than 20 or so, admittedly though I don't look terribly hard...
