... Centre half from Burton on Robins radar according to the CT.

Would be a decent signing for us, I’ve been impressed with him when I’ve seen him play previously.

Had a reputation as a bit of an enforcer at Crawley but has been more a ball player at Burton. If he comes in it would really tell us that our budget is pushing towards the top end of the league as Burton couldn’t afford to keep him.

We definitely sure Hyam will be one of the main centre halves so could see this fella slotting in nicely with Rose and Williams fighting for it going forward.

Not necessarily. Willis would probably have been one of the top earners so, if he leaves, that leaves a reasonable sum to go like-for-like in terms of position.

Okay if you don’t think it infers that much, I would at least imagine that it shows we have a considerably larger budget than Burton.

Guess it's out there now then lol. Whether that means more or less likely to happen I couldn't say.

Its unlikley he would come to play second fiddle to a couple of kids, hes well established, started every week for MK in their promotion season and played 2 seasons in the champ. If he were to come here it would be Him and Hyam more than likely, Rose as 3 and Williams in the 23's

It's YouTube and he plays for Burton not Liverpool or Man City for a reason.
A good solid top League 1/bottom of the championship centre half.
Have a look when you get a moment mate you’ll see what I mean I agree tho it shows good parts.

I wouldn’t say you tube is a good indication either way. At 32, he will be experienced and probably has leadership skills. Alongside a young and improving Hyam this could be brilliant.

Agreed but if he comes in this area is covered well.

Just been reading Burtons fans forum...they brought him in as an enforcer he’s a ball playing centre half very well liked by their fans, sad to see him go were hoping he would stay one fan said “it was a pleasure to watch him play”

According to social media we’re linked to half the players in League One and Two. Another reason I can’t stand end of season. Tedious rumours. :emoji_sleeping:

Would be a great signing, a real leader, experienced, and probably up there with one of the best CB's in the league. To be honest I was surprised when posters in other threads thought we didn't need another centre back drafting in, especially considering our oldest CB is 23 and has only played 60-odd games for us. The lack of experience in our back line is something we desperately need to address if we are to achieve promotion next season otherwise we will ship goals. Even with Rose coming in you just can't expect him to take to League One like a duck to water when the highest level he's played consistently at is the Scottish Championship. Undoubtably he has quality but McFadzean's experience will be invaluable for Rose's development - and of course for the likes of Williams, Thompson and Drysdale too. Fingers crossed Robin's gets this deal over the line.

If he were to sign, would we need another centre half in?

Hyam
McFadzean
Rose
Drysdale
Williams
Thompson

I guess it depends on whether Rose is as good as being made out but it looks strong enough to me.

If he’s an experienced ball playing defender then he certainly fits ours philosophy and MR’s comments re signing experience. I always thought he was an old fashioned ‘clear it’ CB, but evidently not.

However, have I missed something re Davies? Has he definitely gone/going?

It appears he burned his bridges hence his absence from Doncaster
