Leeds,Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Brighton rumoured to in for him according to Sunday People.

https://tbrfootball.com/report-cov...erest-from-leeds-united-and-newcastle-united/

Contracted till 2022 though so he should attract a healthy fee.

I would love him to stay-Southampton and Bournemouth’s rise to the prem from League 1 coincided with keeping their best players. Although both clubs backed by tons of cash-can we afford to turn down a massive bid?

Have we the players to replace him? Shipley (apart from last game) has looked handy in Central Mid and Westbrooke looks tidy.

Sell or keep?

If perhaps you said to me that selling Bayliss would secure Enobakhare, I’d be very quick to accept.

Sell with a first refusal on a loan deal

Not bothered about losing anyone really. As long as we have a system anyone can be replaced.

Agree - provided we know the type of player we are after then, in our current need to balance budgets, this is fine. The only thing I don't like is having too big a turnover all at once as it takes time for the team to gel (during which half the players are written off as sh*te).
Nobody still missing Ben Stevenson, are they, and Thomas rarely gets mentioned now?

If it’s a swap for Bayliss against ‘I need a barcardi’ then I would go for that.

Reckon we should sell if the right bid comes in - Shipley looks superb central (and terrible out wide). 2 mill would do nicely to add to our squad.

He doesn't look superb. He is adequate as demonstrated by his dreadful display on Saturday

Ok firstly, Shipley doesn't look superb central he just looks a bit better than he does out wide, I'd like to see Bayliss stay another year but if we can get a good fee and strengthen then that's ok by me.
Edit, that Dawkins chap on twitter says Sheff utd are favourites to sign him

1.5-2m fee close to being agreed he states...

2m & maybe get a player in return would be good business personally I think bayliss is overrated.

All depends on how much of the cash MR gets to reinvest.
I expect it will only be half of it
The rest will go to cover day to day running costs.

2m, we’d have to take it.

1m to go towards operational budget and 1m to MR to blow on 3 strikers everyone will moan about

Fed up with typing this. The cash is more use to us than Bayliss as a player. For heaven's sake his actual performances have been underwhelming, good prospect though he is.
We need players of more use to us in our current position in the pecking order. Bayliss is a luxury.

Southampton kept some and sold some. It was that they sold right at the top of their value and this was reinvested

Those last 3 clubs don't have much of a reputation for giving youngsters a chance. Maybe Pulis more than boro.
So bayliss can do what several others have done recently take the wages and sit in their U23s or try and up his chances with another season with us. Only just turned 20 another full season of League one should be a long term advantage.

It's a strange one because he isn't going to get gametime in the Premier League. Maybe if they get relegated he would get a chance in the Championship the next year?

It’s a bit of a pointless discussion really as if there is a bigger club looking he will leave it’s just about maximising revenue as much as possible and getting as much up front payment as we can.

It’s silly to start implying someone like Westbrooke can replace based of a couple of fairly forgettable games

Bayliss will be a good player certainly above league 1

I can never understand why fans deride players who move on. It's their career and it's a short one. Bayliss may actually be better in a higher league if properly managed.

Bayliss is a good player. Was big part of legaue 2 promotion and did ok in league 1. Hes only gonna get bettet year by yeat so i would prefer to keep him as he could help spearhead a title challenge

I’d agree entirely. I think most on here would say that we haven’t seen the best of him yet. It seems that If there is a frustration it’s that he isn’t destroying team’s single handedly. This possibly highlights how talented he is.

The £500,000 figure should be turned down for definite. We have him on a long term contract and only a figure circa £2M plus add ons should be considered. If he went we would need to strengthen and unless it was an out of contract player (whose wages tend to be higher) we will have to reinvest it anyway. No point doing anything unless the team can be strengthened overall - if he is only going to get better his value won't decrease over the next season.

For 500k no way - have to be at least triple that or double with add-ons and a decent sell-on percentage.

If that was the case I'd definitely be open to selling him, especially if it allowed us to bring in Bright and a decent keeper. I think Westbrooke could potentially do what he does in terms of passing (with possibly N'Gandu being developed in the U23's in a similar mould), and Burroughs, although very young, has the more attacking side of his game. There's also the rumour that the lad on loan in the 23's, Dan Bartlett, might be joining.

This (last?) season he wasn't having quite as much of an impact and although he could use good footwork to beat a player and play the odd killer throughball that was the exception rather than the rule - most times he either got dispossessed or ran down a blind alley (then got dispossessed).

He's got talent, and I think a move up a league would better suit his style of play (if I were him I wouldn't go to a PL club - he won't play cos he's not ready and will end up playing reserves/on loan and he should heed the warning of those before him that have gone that route - he should look at Madders, taking incremental steps). I think it could be beneficial to both him and us to move on, depending on who he joins and how much we get.
