With Next Season In Mind ? (1 Viewer)

....who do we want out of the way ?
With the top six sorted, barring a miracle, ideally who do we want promoted and out of the way for next season. Personally I don’t particularly fear any but for me it would be the current top two and Perhaps surprisingly Charlton.
I think Luton and Barnsley are just about the best two in the division as for Charlton, they have quietly ploughed through and apart from us are the form team, put a good run together and potentially they will be stronger than the others imo. Don’t rate or fear Sunderland or Pompey.
The other end there’s a number of permutations, I hope Walsall survive and either Southend or Plymouth go, they both could, coming up not bothered but another fan invasion of MK Dons would be nice.

I don’t actually mind who goes up/comes down etc. What I will say is Luton have dropped off a load recently when it looked like they were walking it. If they get pushed out I think it’ll have a hugely negative impact on them next season.

I think it’d be useful to get Pompey out of this division. They’ve got a solid financial base and a good league 1 manager in Jackett. They would definitely be challenging next year.
Was someone saying Sunderland could be in a spot of bother if they don’t make it to the championship this season? Plus they’re Sunderland, so I’d like them to not get promoted.
No real feelings about those getting relegated...I guess Plymouth and Walsall would be ok as I think they’re potentially better than they’re doing, so could therefore challenge - didn’t they both do well last year. As an aside we could sign Rueben Lameiras back if Plymouth go down!
Bradford are the strange ones for me. What’s happened there?

And Scunthorpe. Southend and Plymouth I can understand, as theyve been punching above their weight.
Yeah. Scunthorpe looked quite useful first game of the season - a game we should have won. I remember thinking lee Novak looked decent. Mind you Ogogo looked amazing that day too...

Yes, we should've won. I came away from that game quite happy that we gave one of the promotion contenders a decent match, and had high hopes for the season, that wasn't shattered until Blackpool away (I still do)

Hmm it's more convenient for me to get to but would like to see Charlton promoted think they deserve it along with Barnsley & Luton.
Others have had a crack at Championship recently and think Charlton deserve a crack now as they have been there or thereabouts a lot in recent seasons.

Didn’t Scunthorpe get to the two previous playoff finals or something?

Sunderland to lose in the playoffs would make my day

Sunderland are still receiving parachute payments from their premiership relegation, so they should have walked this league. I fully expect them to lose in the playoffs.

I want Sunderland, Pompey and Barnsely to go up. All big hitters in this league. Luton have falled away since Nathan Jones has gone. I'm concerned about Rotherham coming down, as they seem like a good club, and I'd suggest the best out of the 3 coming down given that Bolton and Ipswich are both basketcases. If we find our feet early on and don't go on a mad losing streak like this season, then we'll have a fighting chance regardless of the other clubs.

Plus, we seem to play well v the top 6 nowadays.

No they haven't. He left in January. They have only lost twice since then, went 15 unbeaten after he left and are top of the league with 1 game to go

They're 8th in the form table over the last 10 games. Not saying they're rubbish, but that they're not rolling teams over like they were.

Id prefer Portsmouth, Barnsley and Luton to up i think. Id rather have Sunderland still down as i think next season could be very problematic for them if they are in the final year of parachute payments. Id expect Bolton to come down in chaos, Rotherham to be decent but im not sure of Ipswich.

Ideally I'd want Pompy and Sunderland out the way, but that means Sunderland getting promoted so wont be fussed if that didnt happen.

If Luton stay down i dont think they'd be challenging again next season, i know they've had a great season but I feel they've just managed to prolong their honeymoon period for longer than expected.

Don't care about the bottom, they'll all take points off us next season anyway!!!

I would like Luton, Barnsley and Portsmouth out of this league. They are all stronger than Bolton and Rotherham who have been relegated.

The rest of the top 6 we can compete against.

Ipswich to finish top 2 I think. Sunderland I think will falter and Lincoln I think could push for top 6 and potentially do a Luton.

If Barnsley don't go up, they lose a load of decent players (out of contract etc), so they won't be the same force next year.

Luton, Barnsley and Sunderland for me.

Portsmouth are good but feel we’re closer to them than Sunderland so let them achieve promotion.

Plymouth punching above their weight? They're one of the better supported clubs at this level and spent quite a lot of time in the Championship (finishing above CCFC most of the time as well).

We also conceded 5 goals against them with 4 of them in a freak game bucking our season trend in scoring 5 in a single game.

Looking at the squads Portsmouth appear closer to us than a well supported Sunderland.

I went to Plymouth for the first time this season. I have to say that I was impressed. Home Park will be a nice ground when they finish their new stand. As it was, the ground was full with an enthusiastic and vocal support. I was also impressed with the team. Although overall I think we were the better team, Argyle were no where near the worst team we have played this season. You would think a city the size of Plymouth, with very little opposition in the vicinity, could support a second division team.

Would ;ike Sunderland out of he way. Probably Pompey too - although only one of these will go up as I think the top two as it stands will gain automatic.

Feeling the strains are Plymouth. Sacked the manager
