What gets me the most about Burge is that there has never been an improvement in his ability to kick catch and punch in 3/4 seasons now which begs the question what is he being coached day in day out at training? Are they working on his weaknesses or do we need to say thanks for everything, thanks for the memories oggy but the product your coaching / teaching everyday is no good, enjoy retirement and we get a new GK coach in??

If I were a goalkeeper and knew my kicking wasn’t up to scratch I’d keep practicing till it was, it’s what I’m paid to do. How many players stay behind to do free kicks, shoots etc after after training?? This is the sort of stuff burge should be doing or have done in the past because in my eyes there’s not one bit of progression with him since he first started.

Yes he’s a good shot stopper but in today’s game that’s a given, it’s like saying to any footballer he can pass well (apart from Telfer)

Walsall, Luton, Pompey, burton, gillingham, Oxford ... there’s at least double figures in points there he’s cost us.

I liked Danny Ireland to be honest.

I know it's harsh but his cameo in that game where he came on as a sub and got injured was entertaining. (not the injury but just the comical way it all happened).

He's thrown it out a lot more this season. I don't know if that's a tactical thing or they've just accepted he can never be taught how to kick.

He's a keeper with some really bad weaknesses that are further exposed by our inability to put games to bed. Doesn't seem to have the mental fortitude or self confidence to be a success in what can be a very isolated position and when so many of our games are settled by an odd goal we have to find better in that position.

I would love to know how far Burge could go before Sky Blue Pete would accept any level of criticism towards him. If on Sunday he starts booting the ball into his own net, or goes to punch it into his own need (and a defender doesn't save him like yesterday), would that be enough? Or is the stubborness so strong that he could literally do anything, and he'd be backing his corner?

Lots of criticism from me for burge’s mistakes just don’t blame him for everything that goes wrong in my life like some of you lot

You are on another planet it seems. Who blames Burge for problems in their lives?

It's madness.
It’s madness I tell you yep. So is blaming Burge for the first goal on Saturday. Second yep and the punch. That’s all I mean. I’m happy his confidence is shot and he is very unlikely to be retained. However with the same budget I wonder what level of keeper will replace him. I like to stand up for the person who’s being badly treated and I am overly supportive but I’m not blind to his limitations

I have always given fairly positive comments about Burge but have to admit that some of his decision making on particularly crosses unnerves the players and the fans and we have lost points this season - His shot stopping one of the best in the league, but the fact that the club it seems are not exactly pulling the stops out to offer him a new contract I think he will be on his way - However don't be surprised that he turns up in a higher league if he can sort his issues out

Both goals Sunday would have taken some save to keep them out - let’s not heap everything on him - we could clearly do with someone who has more command of his area and maybe a bit taller !

I predict that not only will we have new goalkeeper we will also have a new gk coach
Think they will announce it just before the shrews game to give oggy a good send off

Badly treated? Lets be honest he has had the red carpet rolled out for him at Coventry City during his 150 odd games or whatever it is.
The red carpet is now being rolled back up......

It may sound bizarre but are they allowed to stay behind and practice? When my nephew was at Port Vale he wanted to stay behind and practice free kicks on the training pitch but the groundsman refused and kicked him off the pitch.

I think it's really unfair on Burge all these blokes trying to score goals past him. No other keeper has to deal with this sort of crap.
Looks like de Gea is the new Burge - slated for more errors last night. Looks like he might be available?

Were in for Stockdale providing brum and him come to mutual agreement, big target for MR next season

Got a good chance of him signing as he loved his time here however wages would have to reduce significantly
