Beer bottles, purchased at the ground and then taken to seats and thrown. Not glass, plastic but given the height of the 3rd tier a plastic bottle landing on a child’s head could do some damage. It happened - shameful and I can’t defend just because it’s ‘our’ fans.
Very small minority but they have taken the focus on the events on the pitch and that’s a pity.
To be honest the way they are carrying on I'd assumed they were glass bottles. Definitely shouldn't have happened but if they were purchased in the ground you have to question why they aren't poured into those shitty thin plastic glasses you get everywhere else. Worst damage they will do is cover you in beer.

There were also posts on their forum earlier that have since been deleted that alluded to Coventry having too many black players.
Anybody got a screenshot of this alleged posting? If you have, please share. I won't pass comment on conjecture, but if that is true...I despair, I really do.

Its one of the links in the opening post 'I know this sounds really racist but' but obviously the link doesn't work now as the thread on their forum has been deleted.

It happened near me and my mates, it was right in front of police and stewards too and they done fuck all about it. In about a 5 minute span i saw about 3 or 4 full bottles get lobbed down there and saw some sunderland fan crying and their family going mad. Absolute arseholes whoever threw them but im equally annoyed at the moronic Sunderland fans branding Cov fans scum and mocking Jimmy Hill being dead just because of a handful of scumbags. They got a right chip on their shoulder by having a peek on their Forum!

Hey, c'mon time for bed - too much common sense and fact at this time of night.

I read it and the thread was entitled “l know this will sound racist but.....”
Then went on 2 say that basically that our 3 forwards are black and brilliant and was it a coincidence they only had white forwards one of the Sunderland fans called it as it is stating why state their colour they are just brilliant players, therefore clearly racist comment. And that’s clearly why the thread has been deleted

Not sure why so many are trying to be as diplomatic as they are.

They've behaved like cunts, get the flares out lads.

Saw throwing. Inexcusable. And anyone involved is a c**t. But I’ve genuinely never seen such animosity towards me and my mates minding our own business in my life. Snarling sugar puff toothed 50+ year olds offering us out and singing about jimmy hill being dead. Bunch of deprived lunatics. Scarpered straight back to Newcastle after. Sunderland is a giant Nuneaton. Makes Cov look like Monaco.

Agree there was no need for anyone throwing anything so agree with them on that. The issue was with them lot building this game up so much about the hatred against us, it wound up our lot even more. Not excusing the idiots for one minute and they should be caught and banned but this plastic hatred towards us was ridiculous so just gave any thug from our side a perfect opportunity to fight back. Sad it has to come to that but it did.

Anyway fuck em, we played them off the park

Can I request that those of you who witnessed anyone near you throwing bottles or other objects contact either CCFC, police on 101 or Crimestoppers to report where you were sitting, whereabouts they were relative to you and when in the match it happened?
They may be able to look through CCTV or police bodycam footage to find these c**ts and end their association to our proud football club

Nice to see the reference to the blitz just before it hit a second page, I was worried nobody would bring it up for a while there.

Lot of racist under current in there as well.
More than one post along the lines of if you made a racist remark the police would find you.
Strange bunch.

Let’s be honest every Club has fans who are few sandwiches short of a picnic basket and like to cause trouble.

I won’t condone those who threw things from the top tier down to the Sunderland fans below, but that said there was a lot of trouble at the Ricoh earlier in the season, Sunderland fans have been giving it plenty on social media and forums before the game and their Clubs tweet before the game just adds fuel to the fire.

I couldn’t care less about anyone else, I went with a few close mates, the beers flowed nicely, no voice left this morning - I feel broken! What a game though, Ohhhh Jordy Hiwula!
