JCH - did we really misjudge him ? (1 Viewer)

Played well against Brighton and Sunderland for us and if he played like that every week he wouldn't be hanging around in league one. He could turn it on when he wanted but didn't seem to want it much here for whatever reason

I remember Stewart Linnell saying he was the most highly regarded prospect in the Academy. That was not long before he was released,(for the first time) for whatever reason.

Interesting that he decided he was going. Why didn't we demand a fee?

No idea, can not assume MR wanted to move him on ready for another reshape this summer as he didn’t quite fit his set up here.

We never fully know the ins and outs but if two of the three known clubs are promotion chasing sides that are interested then surely a small fee is not out the question. I couldn’t see him going Sunderland as the we’re set on Will Grigg, Portsmouth had Bret Pitman sat on the bench so Bristol Rovers was the only place he’d get guaranteed game time.

No we didnt misjudge him! I watched him over a season long capaign of games his first 6/7 games were quite good and yes he has talent but was trying to play like premiership players and falling over at a slight hint of someone touching him. MR tried to get it out of his system but couldnt and therefore i saw a player who would give a 1 in 4 game performance unless MR wound him up telling him to sort his head out! to which he responded by upping his game. He has obviously gone for more money which is fair play to the lad but a leopard does not change his spots and if things do not go his way he will revert to type. Providing our fans dont wind him up before or during the game his fustration of trying too hard against us will be his downfall.

What are these rumours about his attitude and influence that people are alluding? Where've they come from? Or do they just fit a narrative without any substance? Not a dig, I'm just genuinely interested.

Yep he was really candid at the jab Xmas party and I thought at the time wow. He’d just come off the bench in the last few games and made a difference so I asked him if he was enjoying changing the games coming off the bench.

He said no and he was really annoyed not starting games and that he should be

Bobbly pitch and he'll be putting it in Row Z on Sunday - only worry is hope Sterling has a better game than he did at Barnsley, as he'll be the one likely marking him.

I have seen Thomas arrive for the last 2 home games in his car, Robins was not with him.
In fact, Robins and the back room team arrive before all of the players.

Was this before or after you got talking to Kate and Gerry McCann and they told you what really happened to Maddie?

Earlier In the season we stopped at services on the m1 near Nottingham after a game. Thomas, JCH and another got off the team bus together and looked like they were going out for the night. Maybe they fell out afterwards but they seemed to get on.

Yes I agree he has scored a lot of goals. I think we are better off without him. Bristol city have scored 14 goals 11 from Jch. We have scored 19. Bristol have 18!points we have 20. Bristol city have 4 goal scores with 8. Our three main strikers have 5 each. Bristol their other striker has two. I think it’s a win win for both parties.

I’m just looking at the overall impact of the team since he left. Looking at the facts you could agure say that robins was right to let him as we have improved as a team overall. The fact that all of our strikers all scoring. Have we misjudged him it’s hard to say. I just don’t think he was suited the way that robins wants us to play. Football is a team sport and not just an individual game. Would be be on the playoffs if we kept him probably not.
