I've got a mate who is in the fortunate position of choosing between and F-type jag convertible and a 718 Porsche Boxter. Thought that some posters here may have some Jag experience either personally or via a mate who works at Jag. What would you choose?

Iv driven every FType and all are superb. If I had to choose one with my sensible head on it would be a 400sport, although the V8's are better its a happy compromise when taking price and MPG into account. Even the 2.0L's are surprisingly quick if you don't mind the sound. Will he be buying new or second hand? Unfortunately never driven a Boxter so I cannot compare but they wont get bored of an F-Type.

thanks for that. Second hand, but newish I think (i.e. 2018, ideally less than 5000 miles)

I'm not a gearhead by any stretch of the imagination, but fook me, an F-type is sex on wheels!

Had the (dis) pleasure of getting stuck behind one on M25 heading to Wembley for last year's Play off final and the verbal(?) noise was immense coming from the car, plus it looks stunning too.

If you get an F type make sure the front end fits properly (Gaps are correct and even) and there are no paint drips left on the bonnet around the front wheels area (where the bonnet meets the front wings is normally the place):wtf: the v8 sounds great but v6 supercharged coupe version is the one i would go for with the panoramic roof
