Terrible shame really, so many clear opportunities to score, Thomas buries that first one and it's a different game. Bakayoko caught too flat footed on that rebound as well, if we sorted out our composure and fought for the second ball, we'd be banging the goals in against teams like this

It was weak. However, he did well to get to the first attempt keeping it off the line. Whether or not he had the ball kicked out of his hands or not afterwards, it was still weak

Should’ve come for the cross in the first place in my opinion and not stayed rooted to the spot which is where his biggest problem lies; decision making. Shocking goal to concede, from what was a needless corner given away through poor communication.

Baka should of scored can’t help but feel burge should of done better...story of the season good keeper & striker we would be well inside the play offs

He did not "do well to get to the first attempt"
Look again. Basically a nothing special header, poor footwork/decision making as he should never find himself backed into the goal on that occasion. Because he was, he flopped forward trying to keep ball out and spilled it forward. Nowhere near being kicked out of hands. On his line and in same position it goes straight at him.
Did not think it was that bad until seeing it again. Very very poor. Robins did not defend him either.

It's funny watching the highlights compared to the game (ifollow, in my case). Events appear in a new light.

Bayliss gets absolutely clattered after the Bakayoko chance. Was that a free-kick and yellow card? Should have been but can't remember.

Their corner was well outside the corner segment - I mean visibly - by several inches. Why does that not get picked up? It's petty and against the spirit of the game.

Thought Burge was well at fault for their goal initially, but actually less so on watching it back. He never in fact had it in his hands at all. But why was he standing behind his line, meaning he could only push a weak header onto the post and in? That wasn't great keeping, I'll grant you, though their defender had a fat fuck-off free header.
Finally - I couldn't understand what Burge was appealing for at the time, but with the replay I'm thinking he wanted handball against the goalscorer. Looks like it may have come off his torso at least.

Whatever, I've seen worse performances. Disappointing all the same against another roughhouse team. I hope Robins'll learn to deal with that sort of approach sooner rather than later. It's been what, nearly two years now of having a soft Robins underbelly?

I was in the posh seats yesterday, and what the replay doesn't show is that Burge was baulked badly by the player on the line as the ball was crossed - may not have been seen from blocks 15 - 23, and obviously not seen by the ref, who also missed so many obstructions, body-checks and other fouls, including the one on Bayliss shown here.
Thought their number 3 was the best player on the pitch, although he spoilt it a bit with the dive, which the ref actually got right.

Our strikers are so slow, never ready to pounce on rebounds.

I didn’t see this with the goal but they were definitely doing it on corners in the first half. The player is standing virtually on Burge’s toes leaning back into him, as the corner is taken he reaches behind and tries to hold onto him. Burge did complain to the ref in the first half but maybe more needed to be made of it for the ref to look out for it. It was similar to what was happening last season in the league game at Notts County.

Why did our players let them keep doing it?

It's what lets us down, if it was on the opposition keeper he would be hitting the deck holding his face to kill the game. We just seem to take it all the time.

Can you imagine how much stick Burge would get if he went down softly off a bit of contact, the ref didn't blow up and they scored?

What's Ponticelli doing for the Shipley penalty appeal at the end?

Ponticelli stops running for some reason as the tackle is made. Dunno why - maybe he thinks Shipley is about to shoot?

It looks more like a penalty every time I see it though - their number 4 just barges Shipley down to prevent him getting the ball.

That said, in real time it looked 50/50 at best so I see why it wasn't given - it's the way the defender appears to come away with the ball that is misleading.

Burge should of definitely saved that and Baka should of scored his header.Ponti surely should just habh the instinct to put it in the net.

In JP's defence, he was only given 10 minutes and he hasn't played a game in a while so he's bound to be rusty.
