Tim said we are moving to rugby (1 Viewer)

As bad as it is to be leaving city again Rugby probably is just about tolerable if it means the club continues.

Don’t know the ground at all but guessing temporary stands are required; given these will be uncovered and the lack of facilities compared to the Ricoh what prices are they intending on charging for season tickets? Will they provide subsidised travel?

Of course this could all be another game by Tim but they have form from Northampton. It’s going to take more than a year for wasps to go bust too so this could be two to three years at least.

I would travel to rugby , it is after all a CV postcode full of Coventry fans

The CV Postcode area borders Derbyshire in it’s North and Gloucestershire in it’s South West.

I’m hoping this doesn’t mean we can’t stay at the RICOH.

But, if we can’t stay at the RICOH, we need a Plan B and Rugby or Nuneaton would probably be the next best thing after the RICOH.

If Wasps are refusing to talk, we don’t have much of a choice, and I hope Wasps do negoiate. Things could go v badly for them over the next few years...

I need to hear a second or third person claim to have been in the room when it was said before I begin to believe this. I've been using the internet for too many years to trust anything off the say-so of one person.

I haven’t been there for a few years but if it is still the same, there was only one fairly narrow cul de sac up to the ground. I am pretty sure that there were only one set of entrances, beside the social club. That would be a real problem getting a few thousand “home” fans in, never mind the problem of segregation. I think a lot of work would need to be done on the infrastructure. The ground itself is neat and tidy, bigger and better than Nuneaton. There is a large grassed area in front of the ground and Astro turf pitches beside it. I think the railway line runs alongside the terrace opposite the social club. I am not sure if there would be space for temporary stands etc.
I didn’t go to Northampton but I would go this time. Sisu still the main protagonist in all of this mess but the club itself needs support to survive the current parasites who own us. My fear would be that if gates are reasonable it may suit Sisu to simply leave the club outside of Coventry waiting for Wasps to fail.

Just can’t understand why this would come out in this manner if it was true, we criticise the club and SISU for being secretive and then they let this slip in general conversation? Really?

Honestly , the thing I would enjoy most about wasps crumbling is looking at the faces of the smug council wankers .
Don't think they'll go bust overnight or anything like that but I think the impact of our potentially leaving is being vastly underplayed.

Of course we've been here before when ACL was under council control. We were told over and over again the football clubs contribution was minimal and ACL would be just fine if we left. How many times did we hear the phrase 'washing its face', turned out to be BS.

Think it would be similar. We're talking about a business making significant losses losing a minimum of 23 event days and over 280K customers. Its not just our rent and match day revenues they'll lose, it will be a big hit to the value of things like naming rights. No coincidence they've struggled to sell them while there's doubt about us staying.

As a business surely they'll have to justify to bondholders why they've let that revenue walk away.

Maybe it pays to get it out there to pressure London wasps

This if true would be heartbraking.
Live in Rugby, played at Butlin Road for VS. Never ever thought I'd be going there to watch City.
Ground is decent for the level they play at (Currently Step 5 of non league - equivalent to Sphinx/Cov Utd)
BUT- access is poor, one very narrow (Butlin Rd) residential road off main road. (Clifton rd) 10 mins off M6 jct 2 but a decent number, (more than 1000) would cause chaos.
2 set of turnstiles only.
Small clubhouse for refreshments.
Only really one place anything temporary stand wise could go. (To right of clubhouse as looking from car park) due to size of space, looking at 500 max! (Main stand holds 500)
Pitch would need re-doing, would be by far the worse surface in football league if not.
Away teams ch room would never fit a league 1 squad in - plus staff/kit/crates etc...
Would be worse than anything in the football league, even with temp stands.
