Somebody dug up the Lucas interview last time, she was very clear when she was doing the PR interviews for the Wasps deal as well.

Were CCFC/SISU also very clear that they would still be moving to a new ground in 4 years? Was that in writing nick?

I guess that's what Duggins will use as a defence? However, as fp said, any conditions should have been outlined at the time.

It's not a defence though is it? If it was, Lucas at the time would have made that clear.

He can't just add things onto it 4 years later.

Well if you wanted to harden attitudes even further that should do it. Given Boddy said last night the owners would make a statement i assume it is really from them not CCFC. I agree it is not a very professional statement, it is more of a personal attack, i am not sure it helps. Dont get me wrong they have to fight their corner with everything they have so i understand why and that it will play well to the fans & EFL.

I would be surprised if there was a binding clause in the CCC/Wasps sale agreement to basically allow CCFC to stay at their choice as long as they like but i suppose there is a chance. Given what everyone was aware of at the time it would have been careless in the extreme for a lawyer to allow that through.

Added to which there is reference i understand to it being on the basis of being able to strike a commercial deal to be able to stay longer. That i would think is getting more difficult as we go on through this saga. In which case in court i dont think there is much to rely on but i am not a barrister.

In essence Wasps will say there was no contractual basis to go on further, CCFC had wanted a short term deal (lots of press statements about that) and that deal has ended at the term date.

OEG/ARVO/SBS&L as instructed to so by SISU started JR2 after the assurances were given. I am sure some clever lawyer will work that in somewhere as a part of a defense

CCC have made so many mistakes over the years that it encourages legal actions. Do things in secret and this is what results.

Wasps I fear will see that and conclude we can not deal with these people.

The statement does not say to me they have a strong case.

The club statement basically sets the scene for continuing legal actions. As has been said this not about a day in court and "battering" the opposition. This is about battering people with court over and over again to get what they want. What they want (SISU) is not the stadium but the financial settlements that would come because of it. It is not nor ever has been about what is best for CCFC

I think moving away is now more certain and a solution less likely given the egos and entrenched positions

So SISU are owners of the club and are orchestrators of the court case which is the major sticking point, why aren't people questioning why they are not being pressured to meet with WASPS/CCC or receiving any questions?

Basically said that SISU didn't want to use the Ricoh as per the terms of the sale dictated by CCC that were designed to prop up ACL. An informed source told him.

Was it via email he was told?

There is a bit of desperation on the go from people defending the council.... Shock. It involves the usual JHW and people around the Trust.

Surely you’re not suggesting no pressure has been put on SISU?

The Council has met already with the Sky Blue Trust – but not the Football Club. A former Labour colleague of George Duggins is John Fletcher, who was Labour Council leader from 1996 to 1999 and is on the board of the Sky Blue Trust. Is Mr Fletcher willing to use his position and many contacts in the Council to help arrange a meeting between his former colleagues and the Football Club to help it remain at the Ricoh Arena?

John Fletcher hasnt been on the trust board for a long time

Wow. That is one hell of a statement. It's aggressive, occassionally unprofessional, and cuts right to the heart of the matter. As a fan I love it, as someone who works in a corporate environment and is used to more measured responses I'm cringing.

All I can think is that there will be litigation all over the gaff if the club does go tits up.

Same as..... it’s like one of my inexperienced managers has written it and hasn’t been coached in how to structure the facts into a cohesive peice.... it’s a brain download of info and facts..... because these are facts we are talking about, and do need answering

The way it reads it's not clear. But he also states that he knows that SISU always intended to protect the Higgs Charity from the financial fall out from the stadiums problems...

so basically as clueless as ever

Ccfc putting out this statement about Duggins is a bit naughty.
Firstly, Duggins will be under legal advise not to reply to ccfc, but to forward all correspondence to the council's legal team, who will respond in court. Ccfc know this, but continue to apply pressure via media.
Secondly, the promises made in 2014 became null and void once Timmy made public the clubs intention to buy land and build their own stadium.
Thus leaving the council with an empty facility, and no future responsibility to ccfc.

You can hardly blame the council for off loading an empty and expensive to maintain ground to the first purchaser that came along.

... However, where the council were very naughty, is in not allowing ccfc the opertunity to match, or even out bid the offer from Wasps owners.

But once ccfc broke their tenancy agreement, good will had gone out of the window as far as the council were concerned, and one or two influential council members would rather cut their noses off to spite their face, rather than help the football club.

Nobody has said sisu aren't shit. What were saying now is why the fuck are we unable to secure a deal to keep the club going beyond this season. If you'd rather score points at sisu then your 'best mate' is as much a dick as you.

Difference is SISU ain’t a public body who have to be careful what they say. Besides nick eastwoods comments were Feb 18 not 2013 like many of the fisherisms

Have to agree, last time we moved there was always the hope for a return to the Ricoh, which happened after just a year, or even Fishers fabled new ground being built. As I see it if we go to another ground all I see is sisu going on with more appeals should they lose this one which could involve European and/or civil courts more appeals from them or other partys. and any return to Coventry completely blocked for years, the club imo would die.

Who is clutching at straws by putting together a list of quotes that tell only one side of the story so are out of context?

Of course Fisher has bullshitted and needs calling out.

Does it mean the council should be OK to bullshit too?

lol if SIsu didn’t come out with all the daft comments back then we wouldn’t be here now. not about scoring points. Sisu cant bully as they’ve done in the past with small companies. Sisu renowed for bullying in Court but now there struggling using cov as bargaining tool. if they drop the cases we have a future.

ffs how many times does it need to be said. Sisu bought this on from when we left first time round. they can’t have it all there way. there using Ccfc as a bargaining tool for there own agenda.
