If The Unthinkable Happens ? (1 Viewer)

I suspect the moral outrage would die down in about, I dunno, 3-4 weeks, and a spurious excuse would be found for supporting a WASPS/CCFC. When I have watched Wasps the fans seem just the sort who are probably watching the Sky Blues as well. Which they probably are.

No I meant more as they give tickets out for free left, right & centre!

I'd take a new club all day long to get rid of SISU. If you're happy for a city of our size to have a football club that meanders around League One and League Two and treats its supporters with utter contempt forever, then you take the status quo, ie SISU. I'd take a few steps backward to go forward in the long term. If the Sky Blue Trust was serious about doing something, they should be asking the fanbase about their views on a new club. The EFL may be asking The Sky Blue Trust to canvas the opinion of the fanbase on this in the near future.

I agree with vast minority of your sentiment here.

Was there any clamour for a new club in the Blackpool fan base to get rid of the Oystons. ?

As I've said before: I wouldn't have any affinity with a phoenix club, even less so if it co-existed with CCFC (as seems to be desired in some quarters).
I probably wouldn't go football much any more, certainly not in England

I'd be the same, would lose interest. Maybe watch England in the pub when it's on.

If SISU are still here in 5 years, then we almost certainly will still be in league 1 or 2 with crowds down on where we are now. That's assuming that there is some agreement over the Ricoh before the summer. We can bang on and on about what a disaster it would be to start again but the idea of new owners and a fresh start even in the lower leagues is something I would actually look forward to, rather than the dire state of affairs that goes on and on.

So a new club that isn't ccfc the lower leagues with the ambition to get into the football League one day is better than ccfc in League one or two.

I don't get the logic in that?

If the worst comes to the worse and CCFC is booted out of the football league , what would you want to happen ?

Weren't you on about in 5 years still around these leagues?

If we got booted out there's no more ccfc i would be done with football.
Then that's fine.

My point was why a new team in the lower leagues would be better than ccfc in leagues one or two and why you would look forward to ccfc dying?

Or did I misread.
I never said I looked forward to CCFC dying. I can't think of anyone who follows CCFC saying that.

That's how your post I replied to reads so I was trying to figure it out as yes it would be pretty strange.
Never mind then.....

This is a tough one. If it was like Rangers which was basically same club with a different operating name I would still follow it. If it was a new club like MkDons \AFC Wimbeldon I would struggle to have the same passion.
Hereford went bust and dropped right down the pyramid but managed to maintain most of their supporters after their rebirth.

I think I will probably done with football and would even get rid of sky etc as I can’t see the point as I don’t watch many games anyway.

My older boy said today what are we going to do if the team doesn’t play next year and I didnt know what to say to him, the problem we have that old witch doesn’t get or seen to care what she is doing to the fans to her it’s a business to us it’s everything.

So what if we are voted out and SISU retain ownership of the club in a lower league. They are still the real CCFC and any other start up would be a protest club, like AFC MU, not a phoenix club like Hereford

If it is CCFC then I'd support them regardless of the owner. It could be a consortium of wasps, ccc, piers morgan and tommy robinson and as long as it was CCFC I'd still go and support CCFC.

Thats not supporting the owners, before somebody tries to say it is.

Don't disagree. Was pointing out that it would not necessarily get rid of SISU which seems to be the general assumption

Yeah that's the thing.

People are forgetting they don't give a shit about CCFC so would probably end up being spiteful rather than the dream scenarios.

I've no interest in a phoenix club but I'm not sure what would constitute the death of the CCFC and a rebirth as a new entity.
If we go into administration but the rights and assets are bought out by someone else is that a new club? Would it only be a new club if our golden share is revoked and we apply to play in a lower league? What if the club survives intact but Wasps become the new owners? Not trying to start an argument, just genuinely unsure where the line is.

If CCFC ceased to exist I would continue to attend the odd game at mylocal non-league team and a few Dale games and that would be it.
