Apparently an offer still on the table for the club (1 Viewer)

Doesn't matter actually I misread your post. You said: A few things people have said have made it stand out that the plan is for Hoffman (or somebody) to appear and say they can keep Coventry here if SISU hand the club over to them. Obviously they can't force SISU to hand the club over to them on that premise alone, I misinterpreted.

Ah, yeah they can't be forced to and I doubt they would. That would be the idea behind it.

Wow you are actually ambivalent to franchising the club to Birmingham.

Not really. Would be quicker and easier to get to for a lot of Coventry anyway. I couldn't really care less about made up boundaries as long as it is close to Coventry and easily accessible. I don't have any particular affinity with a line that doesn't really exist. It's just outside Meriden which has a CV postcode. As you've pointed out, it's a completely unfounded rumour with no details so I'm hardly going to be up in arms about it.

No but people who don't go to games in Coventry anyway would be. #standard

I'm assuming 7m isn't a serious offer. Or was it that it didn't include Ryton (which made it slightly better)? Either way, the timing is unhelpful.

The timing is perfectly planned! Predictable to the point it was obvious it would happen, but planned.

NEC is B40 postcode.

It's absolutely going to make Wasps dig their heels in.

To be fair, I think 7m for the club without Ryton isn't horrendous (albeit probably still a little short of what's required), I just don't think they actually have any intention to buy, it's always timed perfectly from a PR point of view.

Wasps will be involved in it. The legal stuff is a front.

CCFC is being distressed to try and force it to be handed over to somebody else.

Don't know if the legal stuff is a front. They have a right not to be happy about it. Wasps (legally speaking) haven't actually done anything wrong. They just bought/leased a property.

Didn't Wigan recently sell for £22M with the DW stadium and the training ground or have I got that wrong? Surely if that's the case £7M without Ryton is a good deal for SISU?

Oh, and a well timed article with the Trust comes out.

Anybody would think it is all a massive coincidence and that they genuinely think everybody is thick as fuck so they can't see it.

They have made their bed now, if it backfires they are in with Wasps and CCC.

Yes, the much mentioned "SISU should of bought the ground when they had the chance" stuff, who was the Chairman at this point?
Errrm, Ranson? ;) Hoffman can be let in as Vice Chairman.

tbf, there are plenty of reasons I'd consider Hoffman not the saviour (his terrible judgement in the past wrt potential partners to run CCFC being the main schtick!).

I'd be deperately annoyed if the same tactics wetre being used here, too. If something doesn't work, try something different!

The thing is, it's a win / win isn't it because either the club gets handed over to Hoffman and the Trust can have a sniff or it goes tits up and a new club is formed that they will want to run.

God you’re annoying

Sorry. Shall start frothing about <insert hated organisational here>

Hoffman’s bid doesn’t get us out of the fire.

We are a lower league club renting a Premier League stadium. That’s the issue. Not Wasps. Not CCC. Not even Sisu (aside from the fact it’s their job to sort it).

Until someone has a plan to make us sustainable moving forward, that doesn’t rely on a Hail Mary court appeal, they can all fuck off.

No, it certainly clears a lot of things up I have been pointing out for months though.

TBF though osb58 said way back when the bid was made that the pressure would be put on again at an appropriate time, I'm sure he did. It's no surprise they're seeking to use this 'opportunity'. Perhaps it'll work, who knows.

It has been known all along, which is why the pressure from the trust has only been one way despite their nonsense.

If it works then I'll be more indebted then most, I can't see it though

Me too - and me neither. Why would Sisu suddenly change their position and strategy now? I am only an innocent bystander (or CCFC fan if you will), so perhaps wiser old sages than me can explain.

I think the peaceful protest on Sunday was a good idea - but it will be aimed at the owners now by the majority (which I understand), rather than focus purely on CCFC and the fans.

The trust aren't interested in pressuring all sides, it's nonsense to suggest it.

Let's face it, they have made themselves involved with distressing ccfc while trying to treat fellow fans as if they are thick.

I think that's a bit strong, but the focus needed to be just on what is right for CCFC in the short/medium term i,e, rental agreement.. Ownership change can come later.

And yrs, all the behind the scenes stuff was obvious

I personally think that we may we'll be homeless )and then expulsion?). There is no chance f a resolution as it stands.

It isn't that harsh. They clearly seem to think people are idiots. I've been pointing out for weeks what it looks like is going on.

Like you say, it's all about a deal for now to save the club so what's with their silence when it comes to wasps and ccc and their NDA meetings with them?

They are complicit in it all now, obviously nowhere near to the level of the main players but they have again been dragged on as a free pr machine on a promise.

They have no interest in speaking out against other parties to try and get a deal. Their aim is the club being handed over to hoffman, as it was about Haskell when he promised them the earth.

Yep - instantly loses the "independent voice of the fans" tag.
