We can make this Cov related because of her history with our club, but is this true what Gilpot is saying? Does anyone agree with her become that in 2021?

Couldn't of given this to a worse person.
The year were meant to be celebrating all things Coventry we have the person who sold out Coventry and jumped into bed with a London franchise as our mayor. Just looking at the woman turns my stomach. Hate is a very strong word, I dislike a lot of things and hate only but a few.
Cardiff City fans and Ann Lucas are amongst the short list of hated things. Dog chew faced old cow

I actually think that Lucas and Duggins are worse than Joy
See the thing is, as much as Joy is a c**t, she is a business woman who is putting her job and business needs before CCFC. Lucas and co however have the obligation of the city and its people to do right by, and still done the wrong thing. Horrible, horrible woman

I told her as much when I saw her on the way to the memorial service for Jimmy Hill she told me she'd been a city supporter for so many years. I said why don't you act like one no response.

Can't believe they've thought this would be a popular decision. Apart from the Ricoh stuff there's been a fair bit of council business over the years that leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely smacks of the 'jobs for the boys' attitude.

One thing I want to clarify here is what exactly do you mean by "done the wrong thing" (I'll leave itsabuzzard. to point out the grammar on that)? I mean, there are a fair few things to choose from, but if you mean not putting CCFC first I don't think that's an 'obligation to the city and its people". It'd undoubtedly be a strong desire because it helps the morale and standing of the city, but I don't think it's an 'obligation' of the council. A lot of residents felt the council was overreaching its authority helping the club build the stadium in the first place and had a great deal of problems convincing many non-CCFC supporters of the larger benefits to the city as a whole in terms of redevelopment, employment and regional/national standing in attracting big name acts.

Otherwise surely the basketball and American football teams can complain because they weren't helped and have now disbanded. The rugby club have been in problems in the past and not received the same level of support - their ground still has only the one stand 15 years after it opened - why hasn't the council helped them get that done? The ice hockey team wanted a bigger ice rink when they were the top team in the country but weren't supported in that. Now for the past few years they've been also-rans. The swimming club wanted a better 50m pool which the council refused for years and were going to get rid of it for a 25m pool, effectively forcing the club out of the city, until under public pressure they eventually agreed, but are building it in a place nowhere near as accessible as the current one.

Selling the Ricoh to Wasps - really not desirable at all and I'm sure the council would've much preferred to have seen CCFC own it until SISU made any chance of that untenable. However their favouritism towards Wasps since they became involved leaves a very bad taste.

I must've missed the 250,000 people turning up for the ice hockey team's victory parade.

This woman has done more bad than good in our City, can't stand her one bit.

I will happily chant Lucas out when she gets out of the chauffeur driven Roller

Is it just me who thinks this thread should be in the “not so obvious hot babes thread” ??

Seeing that Ann refused to listen to the people of Coventry, especially with the sale of Ricoh, the setting up of WMCA, not heeding Demsoc's advice that a referendum was needed and then calling the idea 'Populist' - is someone going to open up a petition against Ann Lucas being made Lord Mayor at the Council House?

I am sure a lot of people have their views of Ann Lucas's time as Leader of Coventry Council and this, in my opinion, would be the best way for the Public to put their views across about Ann Lucas being made Lord Mayor in Coventry's City of Culture year so that the Council and herself will understand the strength of Public opinion about this.

I know I would sign it.

It’s beyond belief this woman is going to be Lord Mayor. By rights she should be on trial for treason against the citizens of Coventry. And if I hear her start another sentence with ‘ I tell you what ‘ my head will Explode.

I don’t know much about local politics (not living in the area) but to say she is wholly responsible for the Ricoh arena would be pushing it a bit far in my opinion. Surely that would have been a majority vote before anything was finalised?
As a side note wasn’t she the figurehead responsible for Coventry and the City of culture?

Don't think anyone is saying she was wholly responsible but she was a major player and has never explained the lies she publically repeated over and over again. The Ricoh isn't the only reason people are objecting, her track record is not exactly glittering.

I guess the only people to ask are the constituents in whichever part of the City that she represented then.
