£5 a ticket. Most people in Coventry have access to free tickets.

Maybe 18,000 turn up today?

Where are there? Are they part of the problem?

Not knocking anyone who has walked away from the club, but only managing a crowd like that is once again a little disappointing.

More there than I thought would be. Important that we didnt lose, although disappointed obviously at the manner we messed up.

It’s always been the same and in today’s climate if you give a ticket away for free people still wouldn’t go. This is due to 1) The owners, 2) Mediocre L1 football and 3) Cold weather.
If we were in the Championship at the top fighting for promotion there would be 28,000 who wouldn’t mind paying £26 on the gate.

They’d have to remove the Wasps flags from their arses first

Maybe I’m in the minority, I actually thought that was a great turnout today for a cold feb fixture against a team near bottom of the league .... I expected maybe 16k ( despite how many they give away ) and I reckon there was prob
22+ in there , not sure how the financials work out against 8k paying normal ticket price, but much better for fans and players seeing the stadium like that , with all stands open and bums on seats - still very quiet though, until we scored

Yep, atmosphere was woeful for the majority.

League 1 football on a really cold day, a lot of people including myself long for the days of at least championship football with big away followings and until we do some fans just wont bother. I myself go to around 15 home matches but like a lot of city fans being bought up with top flight football every week the appeal is just not there!

Same thought it was a decent show

It shouldn't be too difficult to work out why any football club for whom Wembley is still a novelty can attract such numbers.
It's fairly naive to compare that with weekly attendance figures.

Little bit like when non league teams who average 250 find 2500 for an FA cup away fixture

Not even sure that would be the case.

We've not exactly been getting headlines for entertainment either have we. League 1 stuff is largely mundane . It was very cold ! I think for what it was, dragging that many people out to the suburbs of Cov was quite an achievement. Hardly any Gills either !

Sat in the north stand could have heard a pin drop.
Tried to join in with the naughty corner but ended up just getting dirty looks.
Pretty woeful really bit like a Rugby crowd.

Return to Ricoh was against Gillingham 27k (may have been on TV too?)
Next home game about half that.
Game after that about 8/9k.

Yep, we were the same. When we scored, most didn't stand up to celebrate in the telegraph.

I'm one of those people you are on about who went to Wembley but not to Saturday's game. I know the price was an absolute bargain but I had my reasons why I didn't (and couldn't) go

I remember those days when I was young, free and single - worked a lot and didn't have any bills to pay. I used to go to every home and away game - Liverpool, Manchester, Arsenal, even Millwall and Oldham
