Far too many poor games today, the whole defence were off it. Willis was sloppy, Sterling couldn't seem to cross and Mason a bit slow.

Bayliss bullied all game, another goal from a silly Doyle pass. For all of their off the ball trips and kicks he did nothing.

Pointless playing hiwula is we are playing so deep, Chaplin got the goal and tried a couple of shots but other than that isolated and far too deep. Luke Thomas went missing.

Overall, a shit display that shows how much we need Liam Kelly and that we waited until 2-0 before trying to get back into the game with a bit of pace.

Agree Nick, Doyle is no replacement for Kelly when he's playing as he has been last few games. What makes it worse is that Doyle demands the ball and then does nothing with it. Even Sterling was poor today.

5 all round except Doyle who gets a 4 and Hyam who gets 7.

Ref 3 - Awful from the off. Can see why he's only reffed 3 games this season.

Robins 5 - Don't think we deliberately set out to be negative today but his selection of Doyle neutered us.

Doyle 3. Its time he retired now. Just simply not good enough.
Bayliss 4.
Chaplin 4. Up from a 3 for scoring the goal but looked clueless for the 70mins before it and ineffective for the 20mins after it.
Hiwula 3. Not his best game.

JCH 3 dreadful. We had 13 corners and he failed to win a header from any of them.

Yeah the ref was shocking but again we let them do it. When they were going in with studs up after the ball had gone we just took it. The minute our players all run over and make a scene of it the ref would wake up a bit.
Doyle is meant to be the "hardman" that's there to stop that sort of shit. You think anybody playing man Utd would of gone in late or heavy and of been let off by Roy Keane? He's there to kick players that kick flair players. ie. Thomas will get targeted for his pace, but the 1st person that targets him should have the full force of Doyle to stop it happening again.

Exactly, he didn't do any of that. Wasn't really on at the ref either trying to control the game.

If he's not doing that, he's not really worth a place as that was his main benefit

Can’t blame us losing today on Doyle playing - he was playing when we won them 5/6 on the bounce.
We’ll never know but shame Kelly couldn’t play today given how he’s been going lately...
Doyle and Kelly isn’t a like for like change, hence why they complemented each other last season.
Ogogo is possibly more like Kelly but haven’t seen enough to say for definite.

Agree that we can't blame Doyle (apart from the mistake leading to their second goal) and if Kelly wasn't injured I'm sure he would have started. We play differently when Kelly is in the team, more balls for forwards to run onto rather than pumping it upfield, better control of the tempo, allows Bayliss more freedom to push forward and Chaplin stays 15 yards further up the pitch.

Burge: 6 - Couple of good saves.
Dujon: 5 - Kept moving forward but not at his best.
Willis: 4 - Sloppy first half. Passing around the back in games like today doesn't work for him.
Hyam: 5 - Not his best.
Mason: 5

Shipley: 5 - Hit and miss. Often did the difficult part and then messed up silly passes.
Doyle: 2 - Disasterous performance from him. Passing was shocking. Completely bullied. Not helped by his partner Bayliss.
Bayliss: 3 - As above. Didn't have the fight. Allowed Doyle to be bullied out of the game in the first half. Needs to step up.
Thomas: 5 - Worked hard.
Chaplin: 5 - Passenger in the first half. Did better in the second alongside JCH.
Hiwula: 4

JCH: 6.5 - We are 10x better with him on the pitch. Did well again.
Allassani and McCallum N/A.

Ref was a shambles. Fell for all those small team tricks that Scunthorpe tried.

Doyle wasnt entirely the sole reason we lost, i have tried to think of 1 positive about him today but cannot...having said that there was 10 more players that started i couldnt really give positives about and i am not trying to be negative either everyone to a man was well below standard today

We were shite. We seemed content not to conceed first half without ever trying anything. Second half we were much better without ever threatening. They got a spawny deflected effort and then Doyle with a shit pass led to their second.

Hyam was really good. Willis was fucking awful. It's games like today that remind me why I don't really rate him all that much.

Hyam is the only starter to come out of this with any credit today. He looked switched on and was solid. Really impressed with him and think he is becoming a real asset. Willis on the other hand, how is he getting dusted by Lee Novak? Seriously that guy has been going since the Jurassic period, embarrassing.

Burge 6 (distribution is unforgiveable, but did make a smart save to keep it to two)
Sterling 6 (poor first half but looked a little livelier after the break)
Hyam 9 (didn't deserve to be on the losing side)
Willis 5 (not good enough)
Mason 5 (weak and careless in possession)
Midfield all 5 (toothless and were second best to every ball and 50/50)
Chaplin 6 (showed willing but gets dragged out wide too often and is either lacking confidence or ability)
Hiwula 4 (piss poor)

JCH 7 (Was the physical presence we badly needed)
Allasanni 6 (must be in line for a start next week)

Hyam was deffo an 8+ don't think he lost a header or misplaced a pass. Willis looked like he'd be drinking last night

Burge 7 kept well, some poor kicks
Sterling 6
Mason 7 best/only outlet first half
Willis 4 well off it today
Hyam 7 v.sound
Doyle 4 time’s up, sadly
Bayliss 5
Thomas 5
Shipley 5
Hiwula 5 did v.little, but was given nothing to work with
Chaplin 5 worse than Hiwula first half, got up to mediocre in second

JCH 7.5 not a fan, but he changed things today by providing a focal point
Allassani, McCallum n/a

Getting out of the car park. 2

Didn't think Doyle was that bad. He's getting a dispropotionate amount of stick at the moment.

I agree. Just got back from the game and am surprised at how much criticism he is getting.

not sure how many were at the game ,i was with a scunny fan who thought a draw
probably would of been a fair result. anyone who thinks the likes of scunny are not going to scrap for every point is deluded by the way they won at Peterborough last game out.
in that light
Burge 6 no chance with goals kicking not great
Sterling 5
hyam 7
Willis 6
mason 6 he clearly tires which needs addressing 1st half one of our best
thomas 5/6 was given fairly rough treatment but kept at it
doyle 5 set pieces poor
bayliss 5 unable to get on front foot
shipley 5/6 seems to be whipping boy for all our defeats
chaplin 6 better 2nd half and will become a fans fav in my view
jordy 5 wrong game for him think jch should of started

jch 6 the main reason we were better in 2nd half
macallum/allasani not on long enough

Who scouts up opponents? Surely we should have known that

It was glaringly obvious from the start which is why I think we passed it around the back and short from gks. Also made the whole exercise pointless when Doyle blindly hoofed it anytime it came near him. The 2 small front men can work, but we had no midfield. Bayliss missing, worst game I've seen Thomas offensively. Did they smash him off the ball early? Whatever it was it stopped him all game and he didn't want to run at anyone.

I don't rate jch but if he plays like that every week he'll be my fav player.

Midfield is the issue. Kelly is our lynch pin now and when he's out we are screwed. Doyle is gone, ogogo is a huge mystery as today should have been his bread and butter. We need another cm as urgency and I'd argue 2 new wingers.

Burge 6.5 - 2 good saves, a kick that could have easily cost us a goal

Sterling 6.5 - everything good we did came through him, final ball wasn’t the best

Hyam 7 - immense first half

Willis 4 - really uncharacteristically poor

Mason 5.5 - better second half than first

Thomas 5 - not as effective as usual

Bayliss 4.5 - not in it today. Didn’t think I’d ever say this, but he had to carry Doyle in midfield which didn’t help

Doyle 3 - absolutely awful. Again.

Shipley 4.5 - fairly abject

Chaplin 6 - poor first half but much better second, strikers instinct to be there for the goal

Hiwula 4 - anonymous

JCH 7 - thought he changed the game

McCallum - 5 didn’t do a lot

Allessani - 5 as above

Some harsh result orientated scoring here. Willis was poor but usually so consistent hes allowed an off game. Midfield were poor which didn't help strikers. Jono made an impact and tbh I'd start him away and Hiwula at home. Those having a pop at Doule ges been out gof 5 games and Kelly was poor when he first came in but gradually got better to suggest Doyle finished on the back of that is tough. Ideally get the two back together and ahead of them Bayliss in behind the strikers.

Don't give a flying fuck about anyone else's ratings. But here mine.
Burge 6
Sterling 7
Willis 5 worst game of the season
Hyam 8 motm single handed my kept is in the match.
Mason 7
Shipley 6
Bayliss 5
Doyle 4 abysmal .thankyou but fucking retire.
Thomas 5..nowhere near his best looked disinterested.
Chaplin 6. Awfull apart from a the goal which was a tap in was dire. Lucky he want the one substituted at half time. Extra point for tap in goal goal. Bad first touch generally can't hold it up and has no pace.
Hiwula 5 unfortunately pulled the short straw at half time.

JCH 8 immense changed the game put the frighteners on their defenders for the whole half. Held it up well. Deserved a goal.

Allasani na
McCallum na
Improvement never the less as Doyle left the pitch.

Well done Robins for half time change. Although most saw that jch should have been brought on before half time.

Good bravery to take your off awfull skipper who slowed down everything and was 10 yards off the pace.

Am I the only one thinking why doesn’t Robins go with JCH and Hiwula playing the role Chaplin has been doing. Other than the goal today Chaplin has been poor now for about six weeks. It’s fine taking Hiwula off at half time but at least try and play it to his strengths. It appears no matter how bad Chaplin plays somebody else is taken off.

How the fuck did he remain on the pitch. Hiwula must be stewing. Hiwula can actually score goals. If given a fair chance that the messiah Chaplin has been given.
