11 of us paid £30 each for a £10 boat trip, not one free beer , totally ripped off , on tickets no receipt , no beer, no food , the fucker had our pants down. And don't say what where you expecting, because I expected to have what he advertised. It is fraud and if he thinks any different ask him to come in the Devon bar and me and 10 others will happily DISCUSS it with him.

Or in the lounge for the cougar disco

I don't know the guy in the slightest but would like to think he hasn't deliberately ripped off fellow fans. Seems more to me that the coach trips in the past have done well and he's maybe got a bit over ambitious and bitten off more than he can chew a couple of times.

Would have through alarm bells would have been ringing if a 3 hour boat trip in London with unlimited food and booze was only £30. Guy at least deserves a chance to sort it although if he hasn't told the boat company its football fans I can see him getting little joy trying to get any money back from them. Hopefully he's got a contract and its not some deal done over the phone / email without everything laid out clearly.

Has nobody ever had all inclusive on holiday? It never, ever means you can have whatever’s you want, for free.
There’s always limitations and a catch. Every ‘free’ bar boat cruises I’ve experienced abroad has always been shit. The only free bars that are any cop are when businesses put 20k behind the bar,
Yesterday Jimbo was running around with a debit card putting £200 on each bar at a time, which when wankers were ordering 4 Kopperbergs at a time, lasted less than 3 minutes.

Alarm bells should have been ringing when they were stopping people from getting on with cans and bottles of water. What free bar would object to you taking your own booze?

Read through most of these and I’ll admit wholeheartedly I’ve made mistakes on this. The communication should have been much better between myself and the boat firm as at no point did I inform them it was a football trip, they wanted to know the amount of people, departure pier and docking pier. I should have let them know it was a football but unbeknown to myself they don’t offer the ‘unlimited drink package’ to football fans, therefore the money that was paid for the bar was told it’ll be filtered through during the trip. According to them £3,000 was spent in 15/20 minutes of getting on the boat, as people were getting shots and spirits too (I don’t believe that amount was spent in that time).
I’m going down there tomorrow to discuss what is happening going forward as need to get things sorted for people as I fully understand why people are annoyed.
I was told by the security on board that if any cov fans do it in future to just make sure they know and they can either do drink tokens (everyone’s gets 4 each or something), or just charge much less without the bar.
I’ve apologise a lot about what happened yesterday and if given time I will get it rectified.
Sorry to all that travelled, it’s extemeley frustrating as without that issue the boat was really good and a good atmosphere on board

I can believe that Jimbo, on the money spent. Perhaps you can identify the cunts that we’re ordering 4 Kopperburgs each (£5 a pop in a Cov Bar never mind London) and find out why the bar staff served that expensive bitch juice to them in such big numbers. Let’s say there was ten of them, that’s £6 a pop x 4 each, that comes out at £240, for one group or twats, on one bar, on one boat.

There’s lots of questions to be answered from yesterday.

Dont give up on it Jimbo and learn from the mistakes. Keep doing the trips as from what I can see most go without a problem and your looking after away travel.
From the few I spoke to at the game yesterday it went well even though some were upset about the drink situation, from what I could see from the Video clips it was a good day out on the Thames.
Keep up the good work.

I really don’t see what’s wrong with people ordering what they like on a free bar. It’s not the customer whose responsible for limiting himself is it - it’s the organisation that needs better control.

If there’s a per head limit - which normally there is - then vouchers need to be issued.

I’ve been at work functions and seen people take whole bottles or tequila on a bar that’s free

Maybe they like “bitch juice” (pretty sexist but we will leave that one) and maybe there were 4 in their party so they were getting beryine a drink? Maybe they thought they would get their 4 because they couldn’t be bothered to queue again?

Pretty harsh to blame people ordering four koppabergs when, with the best of intentions I’m sure, the organiser either royally fucked up by not explaining the nature of the event, or the host organisation didn’t make their terms and conditions clear or failed to issue vouchers.

Your post makes you come across as a bit of a twat to be honest mate.

P.S I wasn’t there

Didn’t intend to come across sexist, I just hate the stuff and it is a kiddy drink, if I’m allowed to say that.
They were ordering 4 each, two bottles in each hand and think it’s a bit tight on other fans who couldn’t even get one free drink. Just saying that I can fully believe the amount of money spent in a short space of time.

Thought I’d treat myself.

Since when does a free bar include top shelf drinks? Usually shit beer and LIDL spirits that could’nt make you pissed even it was intravenously ingested! Can quite believe how much was spent in 20 minutes I once put a grand behind the bar at my Sons wedding and it went in less time than that

Behind every right minded person is a deactivated Facebook account m8

To be fair, I’ve still got my FB account. More to keep up with friends and family who don’t live near. But that CCFC page is just awful.

One bloke near me sent me a friend request...SkyBlueBazza, was that you?!

I put that down to my ignoring every friend request I get.

Seems to work. :)

I wasn’t comparing against ticket price - I was saying how I can see how £3000 behind the bar got burnt through so quickly.

It was £3000 in 15 mins but in the end altogether was £7000 they are saying was spent on free drinks. I don’t believe that much was when I’ve spoke to very few people that got any at all.
The breakdown cost was £7000 for the bar, £1600 for hire, £975 for security.
That’s why I can’t see how 7k of free drinks were consumed

Honestly, how many tickets did you sell? Free bar's always the same, it's human nature. Every man and his dog filling their boots for 15 minutes, then slow and steady from there!

London drink prices are crazy at best of times on a boat dread to think how much I pint is
I’ve been to not particularly exclusive events in London and been charged more than a tenner for a smaller than usual bottle of Bud so prices on a boat could be something ridiculous.

How many people were in the boat and what was the cost to buy a drink? If you know that you can easily work out how many drinks per person £7K is and see if it’s realistic.

Having lived in London and Brighton for 12 of the last 15 years, that amount spent on drinks wouldn't surprise me, especially on a boat trip.

Fair play for trying to do something different and trying to your put your side across though, mate.

James said quite clearly that the 'free bar' was to be beer and wine only. Which, usually with things like this, would have been a watered down lager and dirt cheap wine.

I sold 330 seats for that one, i had another which was full of families and kids and that was purely soft drinks and went fine (thank god). In hindsight I should have had it that people have drink tokens, you’ll also see that I made next to nothing on it when you take into account the petrol of going around sorting stuff for it. I messed up the initial pricing too as they added tax on afterwards as well as the music was £170 (tax has been included in the breakdowns further up this post)

You should be making 30% not 5%. You need to ask yourself if it's really worth all the bother. If it's just a passion, keep it small scale and you'll encounter a lot less shit when hiccups occur.

It is purely a passion, for years I’ve been going games and used to do away coaches but then my lad started going and didn’t fancy the hassle so stopped, now he’s a little older again I wanted to try and make affordable away travel for fans, I know a few on here have travelled with me often.
Then I was hoping to do something a little different but obviously this one has massively backfired, but it’s a huge lesson learnt

That’s all good James

You’ve just admitted you didn’t inform them it was a football trip, why did your partner go to Facebook and say they were completely aware and it was in writing and will be taking legal action?

What’s the truth?

Jimbo is a cracking lad and I don’t have any doubt that all of his intentions were good for this trip.

Yesterday I heard at least 7/8 different stories about what was going on or had happened. There was total pandemonium about the bars and the bar staff did little to explain what was going on. Some people were saying they had got on the boat with no card or money which I think is ridiculous.

Today on social media, the confusion and different messages have continued.
