Yeah because that is better for him than actually playing first team football? Wow kid wow
Wow you don't think playing under guardiola will improve him? Wow kid wow

Let's see how his career pans out shall we. Don't run away like others do on here when I am always proven right

I’m sorry.... I’m pleased for him as a person that he has got an England call up but no way has he done enough to deserve it and I certainly cannot think of any time watching either Henderson or Maddison but thinking they will be good footballers. If the England side wasn’t so weak in midfield would either have got a look in and the midfield is where we are so weak.

As I say great for the boy but I’m not sure he is good enough and certainly not good enough for world class ever.
Just to point out that it wasn't me who mentioned "world class", he's clearly nowhere near that level (although never say never, he's very young). But if you don't think Maddison showed obvious international-level potential right from the start, we'll have to disagree.

There is so much wrong in that statement it’s untrue.
Suarez, Neymar, Modric, Rakitic, Isco, Cavani, Ramos, Buffon, Pogba, Griezman, Aguero, Kroos, Bale,. KDB, Hazard, Mbappe, .David Silva, Higuain, Thiago Silva, Busquets (others such as Iniesta Xavier are now coming to the end, or have ended their careers are not included) are just a few world class players that roll right off the tongue, and as I said, Messi and Ronny are the cream of the crop. Am I wrong to think Madders can be world class, i don't think so, is he world class yet, no. But in my opinion, he has the skill set to get there, the higher up the ladder he goes, the more easy it seems to be for him.

He’s not playing though is he? 8 minutes against Huddersfield, 21 minutes against Cardiff and 2 minutes against Brighton this season. Just over 1/3 of a full game. I can see him going abroad, he must be looking at Sancho who made the choice to leave Man City and see the chances he’s getting

I care. I care because of the boost it must give to those working within the academy.

It's the equivalent of them getting a behind the scenes Oscar and shows they are doing a great job.

If we care about the club, we care about the academy and if we care about the academy we should surely care that one of the players they produced then went on to play for England.

I'm happy mate, for him and our academy. But I'm not going to go overboard like some people.
If that floats their boat then fair play but to me it's fucking embarassing.
Following on from Saturday's Newcastle tops in the City end it's becoming a bit too much.
Hopefully a few smoke bombs and some fisticuffs Saturday will restore some equilibrium. A few fuckers overboard on that boat wouldn't go amiss either and would ensure those of us that haven't drowned can return home with our heads held high.
I wouldn't swallow much of that water if I was you......it's full of Beluga poo !

hes training under pep fucking guardiola every day, hes training with aguero, silva and kdb every day. he is only going to improve

i completly get the playing time argument but on this occasion it is countered by the pep guardiola effect. he is a better player than he would have been had pep never joined city imo

I also had a feeling straight away that he was going to the very top. His footballing intelligence is greater than any other player I've seen in a Cov shirt. Think he will be in the elite bracket within 3 years.

My twitter feed with comments like I feel like a proud parent waving their son off to secondary school. Fucking cringeworty.

Why? What’s wrong with people taking pride in all aspects of their club and city?

Is all pride cringeworthy? Should we all just be emotionless edgy teens lest some random on the Internet finds it “cringeworthy”?

its not a good thing overall for coventry is it? a good thing would be this englnd national team talent plays for us rather than take first move offered. half way through a promotion chasing season to boot

or at least help us achieve something before you go. hell just play for a few years and TRY before you leave

If you don't think Maddison is deserving of this call up then quite frankly you don't know football. He is exactly what England need right now and it was only a matter of time before he got this call.

His footballing brain and awareness of everything around him is incredible. I can't remember who it was against when he did this for us but the way he can take 2 or 3 opposition players out of a game with a single first touch is genius.

of course not, but he's no longer our player, some of the comments are totally over the top and I find them embarrassing.

And to have him even mentioned in the same breath as Dublin is laughable considering what Dublin produced at Cov.

exactly, maddison did nothing at cov. 1 good season, half of it as a loan player after he jumped at a winter window trasnfer.

but this is what "home town boy" fans do, they make over exaggerate everything about them be it maddison is a cov legend to shipley offers balance etc LOL

as for maddisons talent, its not in question, he deserves his call up.
