Fratton park just made me pine for Highfield Road, bit tatty but full and noisy, loads of pubs and a great walk up atmosphere. What a mistake the "Arena 2000" project was in hindsight :(

Apparently they’ve not been amazing in their first few games but sounds like they ‘clicked’ yesterday. I understand that they’ve got a very solid defence with 2 outstanding, young centre halves. Despite saying he won’t splash the cash too much I think ‘Walt Disney’ will see them alright too. They’re on the up!
I really like Fratton Park. They get a fair few in there and make a right old racket all game. Although I understand season ticket sales are down on last year.
I have to say (and I am biased) having been to FP countless times over the years I think highfield rd was better. Certainly bigger and more modern. I used to make fun of FP as my dad used to tell me that one of the stands was built in 1926.
You’re right though, I’d love cov to have something similar.
I guess The Ricoh made some people a lot of money...great.

You know we couldn’t compete without increasing the money we could bring in. True things didn’t happen as we wanted but it washt done to make money

The likes of Bournemouth, Burnley etc seem to compete ok.
I don’t think the move to the Ricoh was an act of altruism on the part of our owners.

People say the same about Palace's ground. The old grounds have atmosphere. Modern bowls do not.

A clubs financial position is no longer dependent on fan base and attendances.
With all the Sky BT money ‘a well run smallish club can survive in the Premier league for years.

I remember being in the west end when it was still a terrace it was loud in there, but from the other end you could hardly hear anything the acoustics were awful, we always seemed to be out sung by away fans in sky blue stand which was more open .

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I don't think when the Ricoh was dreamt up, or even when we moved there, anyone thought you'd be getting nearly £100m in TV money for finishing last in the PL.

I don’t know but suspect not as loaded from a business point of view as she was, and if we are looking for a billionaire sugar daddy or mummy it won’t be her.

Friends and contacts of mine have met and known the directors and ex-directors (e.g. Fisher, Joy, Igwe, Labovitch, Hoffman, Elliot) over a period of many years and during that time have fed back a picture of who these people are, what money that have, and so on. I've understood from everything that my well-connected friends have told me that she made her money by using advanced mathematics to develop super-intuitive algorithms to predict US stock market movements and to make investments accordingly; Igwe was her right hand-man in doing so. She made over $1billion through this and then decided the best way of continuing from there was through setting up a fund management company; Igwe asked as a reward and incentive to continue working with them that they invest in a football club and let him be the owner's representative. I am quite sure that Joy sorely regrets ever entertaining that idea. I can't name names on who has told me what, but suffice to say that Joy's vast wealth is well known to those who are closest to te higher-ups. Every time she comes to London, she stays at Claridges with her personally bodyguards in attendance - that should give you a clue - that's nor the sort of thing you can do if you own a car accessories emporium in Coventry.

So we don't have super-rich owners as such, though it's fair to say are owners are owned by the super-rich who could plough much more money in, if they choose to so do. She probably, reasonably enough, thinks she has spunked quite enough money up the wall on CCFC and is thus reluctant to plough more in, so we shouldn't expect to see that any time soon.

A bloke sat next to me in Mirabell Gardens says he hasnt got a clue about Chaplin, but thinks RB Salzburg would give us a difficult game (at least I think that's what he said)

I’ve given up reading about Joy Sepalla and sisu ages ago, but I seem to recall when the Northampton issue was boiling up and MPs were raising issues in the House that’s when she got personally involved and didn’t even know Coventry City were part of her sisu empire.

If she has bodyguards where were they at Wembley, when she met fans or when Gilbert was chasing her down the road? Surely she's at more risk going to a court in regards to ccfc than staying in a hotel?

Is she rich? Obviously. A long way between rich and billionaire though.

Not in this window, no; he’s been on our radar since last January & we may go back for him. He’s on other’s shopping lists too so don’t pin your hat on him. It depends on lots of things but on the positive side, he does know a lot of players at the club.

When friends have mine have met her privately, she had private personal security. Such security maybwell have been present at Wembley too, part of their purpose is to be inspicuous and only step in when needed.

To be honest it has seemed that it was accepted fact that she is innthe billions. Without breaking confidences, those people i know who are familiar with past and present board members backed up the general impression that's she's one of the uber rich with wealth far beyond your typical lower league club owner lile John Radford. The impression i have received is that she is someone with unlimited (for CCFC investment purposes) personal wealth but who chooses not to place her personal finance into the club. This is a summary gathered from various people who have some decent insight.

So they wouldn't step in when she gets chased down a road by a reporter?

I've never seen it as accepted fact she was a billionaire.

With that much dough its a shame she doesnt just sell and get rid. If I had that kind of money I really wouldn't want all the associated crap PR and hatred. Lifes too short love get out there and live it.
