Amadou Bakayoko - Confirmed 2 Year Deal (1 Viewer)

Rather annoyingly I've already associated his first name with Waterloo by Abba and the only lyrics flying round my head at the minute are "Amadou - Couldn't scored if he wanted to"
I've decided to call him Amanda, cos that's how I first incorrectly read his name.

My feelings is that the Chaplin deal is over now that Bakayoko is through the door.

I've heard we enquired about Bakayoko before but at that point the money Walsall wanted was too much. The fact he's now in the building makes me think he was the one that could happen very quickly that Robin's talked about. My opinion is that this means the end to Chaplin deal. How would he even fit now?

I'm taking Robins quote as confirmation of that: "We needed more at the top end of the pitch and Adamou gives us that, and I’m sure he will become a fans’ favourite.""

Can't help feeling there is a hint of bitterness in these posts, and hope that Bakayoko is a failure
absolutely no bitterness at all.
hes just nit a very good player hes paceless lazy cant jump and don't score goals.
ill come back to your forum in 2 months and if im wrong you can throw eggs at me if im right then you can aplogise.
I hope he scores 30 goals for you and gets you promoted but I wouldn't put my money down on it.
if he gets double figures consider that a very good season
let me just remind you
total league games played for walsall 93 games goals 9
total games for southport 11 goals 2
total games for telford 6 goals 0
total games for Worcester 9 goals 3
these clubs he went on loan to in various non league divisions
we have defenders on books with better strike rate.
anyway good luck no bitterness and very very happy with 200k
thatll go very nicely to our chairmans pension fund thanks

Didn't think he was what we needed but now he's signed he'll have my full support. Feels like Robins is stockpiling players so he has different options instead of going out and spending his money on a couple of top players and risking them failing.
Yes he is stockpiling players - perhaps we will start loaning some out to Chelsea - role-reversal and all that!

Not a chance this is the McNulty replacement. I’m expecting another one through the door with a bit more experience.

This is a squad signing I have no doubt about this. May be 4/5 in line to play up front at best and will play checkatrade games and one for the future if coaches well.

Reading the Walsall fans forum he’s bloody awful!

Apparently we were after him last season when Widdrington was here too!

Why would we pay hundreds of thousands for a player 4th or 5th in the pecking order?

What would our keyboard warriors have said about McNulty if a club had come in for him in January?
Let's give the lad a chance

Can't remember the last time we signed a striker for money and felt so underwhelmed. Actually i can Kevin Kyle... *Shudders*

I've already managed to secure a load of these off some Man City fans.

Might be a good idea to hold them up as soon as Bakayoko comes out to warm up on Saturday.

You strikes usually aren't very prolific I think we are getting him at the right age to kick on now under robin's guidance

Didn’t he get 9 goals for last season in 47?

Your, or shall I say, ‘our’ man is 22 years old. Plenty of young players, especially strikers, have disproportionately bad goals to appearances records. Partly because plenty of those games have been 20m cameos and dodgy loan deals. Two of our youngsters, George Thomas and Wilson had similarly bad records before ‘break out’ seasons.

Extra finishing sessions for Baka and hopefully he can smash in a good amount for us!

George Thomas had a record that was similar to Bakayoko in his best season! Adebola's best season here he got 12, he got single figures in his others.

We are all forgetting a player when deliberating who will score the goals... Jodie Jones, he’ll give us yet another dimension to our forward line, nice to have a 28 goal striker as we had last season but the next highest was only on 9 our set up now will hopefully spread the goals throughout. Need to plug the defence now

I’m going all out, and saying I like him. I trust MR and the other managers who bid or were interested I am certain they know better than us. Said before think we are going to be a threat up front. Still want and hopeful of Chaplin coming in.
