Junior Brown. Shrewsbury.

“The best leftback in league one” - Shrewsbury Town Fan commenting after Coventry signed him, 2018.

A mystery but my hunch is he’s not just a left back but someone who plays anywhere left side we’re not blessed with that many left footers and if Stokes is on his bike there’s another one less.

Maybe another young prospect on loan?
I have no inside info but could make sense
Was my thinking too - it's got to be someone that is happy at least starting the season 2nd fiddle to Junior Brown but where does that leave Chris Camwell?

Camwell has lost his way
Got to keep his head down and wait for a chance to redeem himself

Based on the last post (if true) some possibilities could be:

Antonee Robinson - Everton
Tareiq Holmes - Dennis - Huddersfield
Calum Elder - Leicester City

From what you’ve heard, will he be in and around the first team, or a development player?

Difficult to say. I'd expect he would be our 2nd choice LB so if it happens Stokes would probably be on his way (I haven't heard this part, just my hunch). However, you'd probably see him playing in the 23s to begin with, probably in the same mould as Hyam.

I heard Camwell likes to party rather than play football...just a rumour mind

If true, he'll end up on the scrapheap or playing at Nuneaton or lower in a couple of years. Hope he buckles down and concentrates at making a proper fist of it.

Camwell has been training all summer so far up at bedworth Utd. If we are signing another left back think the writing is on the wall for him

You could look at this a different way and say he's been training all summer rather than have time off. Although he was in the nightclub the other week.

He is allowed a social life. I’ve always liked him when he’s played in games I’ve watched. Don’t see the logic of offering a 3 year deal 12 months ago to bomb him out this summer without giving him a chance in preseason to impress

He is, hanging around with a bad crowd and drink driving isn't advised though.

So many lads over the years seem to piss away a promising career. I’d expect we do already do pastoral work with them but we need to step it up. If you think you’ve made it when you haven’t started for a L2 (at the time ) side then you’re a moron and shouldn’t be making your own decisions.

Maybe best thing would be a loan somewhere far away so he can break those habits.

The difference from last summer might be down to the new contract. Got spare money to piss up the wall now. Was it his dad going mad that he wasn’t starting early in the season?

Thin he got in trouble last year for leaking that list of players going to spain as well.

I wonder now that player contracts have officially expired we'll see any movements today, or this week, regarding any new incomings...

I’m going to stick up a bit for Cammy and his dad here, I know them both having played cricket with them, he really wants Chris to succeed and I guess his crime is he is trying to push hard to get him in the team rather than Chris doing it on form and ability, both are big City fans and Chris will travel to away games with his mates when he isn’t playing.

Chris will make mistakes he isn’t the sharpest tool in the box but he is desperate to play for his team and maybe the relative bit of fame has gone to his head but I am sure his dad get him back in line.

Cheers for the insight, but even calling what he’s got relative fame is a joke. He’s about as famous as I was as a secondary school teacher: a few locals know of him and spot him when he’s out. He’s an absolute nobody and needs to realise that.
