Correctly stewarded and monitored there should be no problems with standing it won’t go back to the tight swaying mass that used to be years ago. I hope it happens but doubt it somehow

I’d rather sit because my backs fucked up, but safe standing would mean I might actually be able to see the game at away matches when I do. So I’m a supporter.

Would make it much easier to move away from the meatheaded twats who spoil everyone's day at away games.

Unless the premier league allow it what happens if a club had it and got promoted from the Championship?

Is this quite a complicated concept to grasp?

I would imagine they would put the seats back in.

What and then take them out again if they get relegated the next season?

If they deemed that safe standing was a success, and they wanted to repeat the experiment, yes.

Of course it may be after one season's experiment in the lower leagues the Premier League allowed it anyway, if there was no problems with the clubs that were being promoted.

Saying that, the Premier League football is more aimed at the armchair fans anyway!

I guess it could be implemented like Celtic & others have where there are seats that can be unlocked and dropped down. I personally think more pressure needs putting on the premier league to implement this and make football more accessible to all. We don't want you go back to the 80's but there are now safe ways to implement this.

This is the problem. They only care about TV money and corporate sales at that level. I don't think they're interested in making it accessible.

I only stand when other people do. How about inventing something we sit in, then stand up if anything exciting happens?

So you'd be for safe standing then as it means those who like to stand have an area to go and not get in the way of those who like to sit.

Imagine all away ends split between standing and sitting. You could actually choose what you want to do!

Here is a video as to how it works at Celtic:

Safe standing: Celtic's new rail seating explained

The seats fold down or up as you need and there is a rail in front of every row. Yes it wouldn't be as good as the old terraces but it would still be amazing. Plenty of atmosphere and noise could be regulated from those and it would be a vast improvement on all seated areas.

The bottom half of one stand behind the goal at the Ricoh would be ideal. I don't like the corner ones so much.

It's largely irrelevant for CCFC at the Ricoh. The current landlords wouldn't have it for one and we've got 70% of seats vacant a lot of the time.

However, hypothetically, would safe standing cure the capacity constraint at the Butts? What's the equivalent capacity of a safe standing terrace against seating, is it one for one?

The Hannover example is 3000 seated, or 5700 stood up.

Cheaper tickets yet more revenue for the club.

It's a no brained for me, but you're right - Wasps would never allow it!

Unless when you arrived someone was in your seat
