It'd be nice to keep it 'stuck', at least for the time being.

I got a bit more info on the ground proposals today, but it's no secret, so details are probably out there already - somewhere.
Also learned that we've signed another with a football background. A back-rower who could have been a competitor to Lee Burge (so he probably made the right career choice ). 26, and currently with a Prem side. Looks like a shrewd signing.

Can always use it for pre-season or if you want to make an 18/19 one for all the pre season stuff?

Happy with that Nick maybe start a new one once the first pre season game starts?

If Kneeza can fill us in with more details of the ground and signings would be an added bonus.....

They carried on with mostly replay stuff when I looked (I was wandering all round the ground). Early days. It'd be nice if they used it for a count-down clock, and the attendance figure, list of scorers etc., but I'm sure that'll come.
Sorry, can't give his name just yet (not sure if his announcement is scheduled for the coming week - didn't ask) but suffice to say he doesn't play for the Pests or Leicester, but a side not a million miles from the BPA.

Saints or Worcester then. Jeez at wiki’d the squads found 4 27 year old back rows but no 26 so assuming he’s one of them?

Just got in 3 and sheets to the wind. A great day that makes you proud of Cov and well done to CCFC for getting within a whisker of securing a playoff place. Fantastic that we broke National League One attendance record too. I knew it was going to be 3k+ just by looking at the main stand. It must have been at least 85% full which in itself would have given over 2.5 k but I was really surprised that we broke the record. Roll on next season, can't wait.

Ben Nutley! 26 (sure it said 27 when I looked earlier) youth career as a keeper at Luton Town.

Impressive signing that!

Talking of back rows, delighted Brett Daynes got the best reception/send off today!

You might be right, but I couldn't possibly comment...
Yes, Brett fully deserves all the accolades. Star.

The ground stuff (public domain anyway) is very much 'bit by cautious bit'.
Stage one, as we already know, is the pitch replacement, but also a bit of building. This adds a storey to the changing rooms block where admin facilities will relocate to (freeing a lot of space in the East Stand).
Then there will be changes to the hospitality in the top two floors of the stand, with the suites being extended forward into the existing seated area.
Also, maybe slightly later, there is a plan to extend hospitality boxes over the entire upper width of the stand by extending the top levels backwards (towards the ex-college) by bridging over the existing access road. There will be more community space at this end too, with a dedicated entrance added at the northern end adjacent to the existing turnstiles.
A new 'spur' will then be built off the changing rooms block and will be the first section of the South Stand, containing more bars and hospitality.
The bars/hospitality suites are currently always fully booked, so the additions are seen as essential to support the move upwards (income percentage is much greater than just bums on seats). However, the 'spur' will also form the first part of the south stand which will eventually extend across the railway end and curve into a new west stand. No decisions have yet been made on standing areas, but Jon is keen to retain some - even if they're not seen as financially self-supporting.
Thats about it for now. The hotel/stand etc at the north end is currently viewed as very long term, entirely dependent on Premiership status, so we may have to wait until the pests crash and burn for that!

They’ve got to keep a standing area IMO plenty of clubs have stands with a mix, usually standing at the front seating behind, surely you can fit more in as well!?

I agree, but the argument is that you make more out of seats, for various reasons. And for 'hospitality' by a factor of two or three times. Difficult one.
I'm guessing that there will be some standing at one end only, which will not suit everyone (including me, as a long-time cowshed stander). However, as Jon is at pains to point out, it's mostly ambition so far (apart from phase one, the pitch etc). Finance must be secured before anything else is properly planned.

JS has said (not on the radio though) that he firmly desires a 'Cowshed' on the park side of the ground. That'll do for me.

Makes sense.

Any idea (taking out away followings) what sort of Home support they’re expecting next year was thinking this Saturday 2,200 would be a thousand on last season, just think that’s a stretch but achievable, just have to be careful they don’t price the casual fan out.

Cheap at the moment. I expected it to go up at least two quid to be honest.
I don't think they're looking to far ahead gate-wise, but 2000+ should be doable. In truth, they're targetting more hospitality and bar sales atm. Both are way below whatthey should be, but they don't have the facilities to maximise either, so that's the immediate aim (more bars/boxes etc, and the addition of a big floored/heated marquee as a fixture).

ST wise it’s good value I agree but matchday price of £20 my concern has always been CRFC being more expensive than Wasps (cheapest ticket) for the Rugby casuals, Im pretty sure their cheapest is £15 just got to be careful if somebody wants to choose between both they don’t go to Wasps as the cheaper option. (I get this would only be a handful of fans).

I guess hospitality and sponsorship is the big earner so that’s fair enough focusing on that.

Bars have to get better, they really struggle.
I don’t get why they don’t pre pour more etc just basic bar stuff, that does and I’m sure will improve.

Just listening to tonight’s show now, nothing too new to report I guess.
The operations manager would be a cracking role for whoever gets it!
