Time to ditch the Sky as they are messing me around, wifi is poor arond the house etc and am looking at the Humax Free sat HD boxes or pvr. Anyone have one?
Also looking at new broadband provider but am limited as I'm in the middle of nowhere so unable to recieve a fibre service etc. Was going to go with BT but more expensive than some and capped usage?

Plusnet is identical to BT in every respect except their pricing. A lot depends on whether you also want BT Sport or not.

I’ve got a Humax pvr and Plusnet. Does the job and the price is fair. The wifi box you get from Plusnet is nothing special, I use a couple of range extenders to get it all over the house.

Any usage caps? How much per month for line rental/broadband?

Had Plus net for a number of years and the one thing you could say is that we only last signal twice and it was a consistent signal - just moved to BT and its up and down like a yo yo but we did get free sport for three months which gave me Champions league Moto GP and the the cricket for 3 months- gonna have to ditch Skysports as it is just too expensive - we paid 32 a month but if you are new you can get it cheaper - phones calls were expensive in the week - weekends were free

I'm with BT and never had a problem.
When all the family are around there are christ knows how many devices connected but we don't have any issues.
Get the footy free as well.

I have a 4K capable HUMAX PVR I got to replace an older HUMAX that was still going strong. Very satisfied with them, easy to use interface and good feature set.

I actually bought a recon one, frankly can't see the point in buying new, both the boxes I had were recon & they worked fine.

no usage caps, I think it's about 50 a month, (the missus pays I just watch it!).
That seems expensive? Just for line rental and broadband? Or have you a tv package thrown in aswell?
Was just after the broadband/line as am going for Freesat.

we've got broadband, phone and TV though we rarely use the phone so are going to going to dump it.

Humax boxes are good.
They keep everything up to date, offer good customer service and constantly upgrade firmware to fix bugs. Which is a lot more than can be said for some of the larger manufacturers.

(BTW, I do this shit for a living)
