Leadership by Doyle-again was one that didn’t feel over the moon when he signed but has showed up last season’s pansies who were an embarrassment playing in the same position.

Not answer to the question, but just noticed this quick stat

We lost all of Chris stokes last 3 appearances.

Since he’s been out, 6 unbeaten.

Certainly seem far more balanced with 2 full backs getting fwd

I'd say it' because we either got more points or won the play offs.

MIchael Doyle has turned us around massively. He's set standards that the rest HAVE to follow. No arguing about it they just do as they're told. Outfield players are making less and less mistakes and a lot of it is down to Doyle in my opinion.

I’d say Mark Robins, we all call for managers head when we weren’t and don’t do as well so its only fair we praise him when we are doing well. Not so long ago people were calling for robins to go.... it’s not the answer. We are always going to be hamstrung by other factors let’s call them and robins isn’t part of that problem. He has recruited very well and as mentioned if we had jones and andreu.

Overall Mark robins is a good thing for our club and he is a big reason why we are doing so well imo.

He has made some tactical errors though this season, especially in the way we were setting up away from home and that has undoubtedly cost us points.

We are now at last doing well away from home and we need that now to continue for us to have any chance of making 3rd place.

Yes he has made some tactical errors due to stubbornness mainly imo. But overall we are all in league 2 for a reason. Players and managers.

I don’t think we will get 3rd but playoffs is an acceptable night year as everyone would accept I think.

I would take playoffs, but that has to be the minimum requirement now.

We are in the top 7 and have a very decent run of fixtures coming up.

Has to be Robins. To put it short:

- His adaptability: Has had a torrid time with injuries. A number of pivotal players have sustained long term injuries this season forcing Robins to alter his plans for the season last minute. How he has adapted to his constraints is nothing short of exceptional.
- Player recruitment: His player recruitment on the whole has been fantastic bar one or two players. McNulty, Doyle, Grimmer, JCH, McDonald, Hyam, Davies have been imperative to our season.
- Defence: How he has set the team up defensively has been fantastic throughout the season. This is shown by the fact we currently have the best defensive record in the league by a long stretch.
- Kyel Reid: Swallowing his pride and giving Reid a chance when the team was crying out for an out and out winger.
- Marc McNulty: Showing his faith in McNulty despite half our fans slating him.
- Academy graduates: Giving Bayliss, Ponti and Shipley starting roles in the squad this year. Bayliss has been outstanding this season and if he goes in the summer there should be no ill will towards club or player as he's worked his socks off to get us to where we are in the table. Shipley and Ponti have shown promise which gives me comfort that we have a bright future. This also rings true as he oversaw the 4 academy graduates signing on in recent weeks.

Because these shitty owners have managed to get us into a league we shouldn’t be in, this should be a league we loan players to and not play in

Interesting. Because not so long ago people were calling for him to be sacked.

Indeed they were, which is usually a given with our fan base; we've reached the point, however, where we need a manager to dig in and be given the time he needs to get this team punching it's weight and beyond.

For me it's been a strange season thus far, but a promising one. I'd be delighted with finishing in the play offs, all MR has to do is keep the lads firing on all cylinders because momentum and confidence is 75% of winning the play offs. Imo anyway.

MR has recruited well in many respects, and this coupled with his own perseverance has been key this season.

Robins, for showing Mowbray how you should recruit a team.

Hyam, Davies, McDonald, Grimmer, Kelly, Doyle, McNulty, Clarke-Harris have all been really good signings. Even with injuries to some key players we are still doing really well.

The defence has been really strong, but they couldn't have done it without Doyle and or Kelly who steadied the ship massively earlier in the season. I know it isn't everyone's favourite combination, but whilst our strikers were trying to find their form, it really helped us not leak too many goals by having them in the team.

I've said this on the 'Robins out' thread, but we are not going to get a better manager than him. I'm not saying we should give him a 25 year contract, but we should certainly back him in the long term, He knows what he is doing, and he is absolutely right when he says it is a marathon not a sprint.
